Oldsmobile 442 1964 Description
Here is what I know about this car: I originally bought it in 1999 as a 442 Cutlass prototype car because as far as I know the 442 package was not offered until 1965. Because these were apparently all built on the F85 police package cars they are titled as such. In the 17 yrs I have owned it I have researched everything I could to decide how much money to spend restoring it. In that time I have been told by 50 "experts" that it is real based on things such as boxed control arms to the aluminum vin plate. I have also been told by 50 "experts" that it is nothing more than an f85. That being said I am selling as an unknown model. Of course I want to believe its the real deal, ut I need all bidders to understand and do all of your own research and that without the original sales info these are nearly impossible to verify. I will be able to add more pictures if needed. The original car had a 330ci with a 2 speed power glide transmission. When I got it there was a 350 rocket in it and I think a turbo350 tranny. I still have the original power glide in the trunk of the car and it will be included. In around 2005 I bought a rebuilt 455 rocket motor and had it installed but never registered the car so it has never been driven, o it technically has 0 miles on it. I lost my storage 2 years ago and it was last started then. With the old fuel in it I have not tried since. Before I bought the car it had an old restoration which included bondoing over all of the bumpers and chrome trim. This bondo is cracking and the body will need to be worked extensively. All of the grill/ headlight bezels/and interior parts that had started to be removed are in the trunk as well. The body looks straight and has rot on the 2 quarter panels with bubbling on the front of the hood and around the rear window. The trunk pans and floor boards are gone but the frame was still ok. I Have not looked at the frame extensively since it was parked so may need work but I cant get under it right now. The original seats have been reupholstered and never used. It has a MA title filled out in my name but I have never registered it since the title was transferred to my name.I think that if body #027 on the aluminum firewall plate would mean it is one of 148 f85 club coupe 442 models made of the 2999 442's made in 1964.
I am not a mechanic, ust a Cutlass guy out of time and money to do this right. I will not let anyone try to start this car unless they change the oil, nd fuel.
The last picture is an old picture of this car from 1995ish on 442.com under car show then click 1964-1972 and the old owners name:

That's all I know, tarting bid reflects the price I could realize by parting out, ven though I wont.
