Mercury Cougar 1967 Description
New brakes, fresh suspension, new interior, new stereo, new steering box and pump, new window and door rubbers. Lil 289 runs great.I replaced the original 2bbl intake and carb with a 4bbl setup and removed the inop AC unitbut still have themand they come with the car!Clean Title.
The body is in really great shape. There are a couple bubbles below the rear window pillars, but dime sized. The rest is great. Thefender wells, rockers, floor pans, and trunk pan are great. The rear lights and the headlights are always acommon question on these! The rear sequential system has been broughtup to dateand work perfectly. The lenses and gaskets were replaced also and the bezels were repainted. Look great. Both headlights open perfectly, but thepass side needs assistance to close. The vacuum canister is working. I'll take some time with itand see if I can get it figured.
Theonly thing that will need some attentionis the dash lights. The gauges all work, but the fuel level registerswell above full when its full and at 1/4 tank, itsempty. The dash lights also need to be worked. Some are inop, and the hand brake light remains on. The dash stainless has all been reworked and it has a new pad on it. Both the front and rear bumpers have some rust in the corners also, soif you're going to show it, they'll need chrome. The chrome caps on the Cragar soft 8's are showing age too.
The ODO reads 63k and change, but I have no idea the actual. Could be rightI suppose.
Car guys know how these projects go, Mustangs Unlimited and West Coast Cougar made more on the car than I will get back. All in all, its a solid ride.

*** Update - 5-9*** I spentsome time on the headlight issue. After fully recommitting myself to finding the designer of that god forsaken headlight assembly so I can kick him in the nurts, I got it working! Both sidesoperate open and closed. Happy day and only a little blood shed.
