280K + miles on odometer, engine rebuilt (2.5L "Iron Duke" 4 cyl.) Dec. 2015. Since then I've put a little over 2000 miles on the car.
I refer to the Jeep as "The Duke"
Since my ownership I have had the following maintenance performed:New camshaft, camshaft gear and sprocketNew push rods and lifter setNew master cylinderNew clutch master cylinderNew clutch slave cylinderFront and rear diff serviceNew timing gears (matched set)All new gaskets/gasket sets to the oil pan, timing cover, thermostat housing, manifold, push rod covers, valve covers and carb mount.Carburetor rebuilt (please note the engine was upgraded to a Weber carb set up)New alternatorNew spark plugsAll fluids new (engine oil, brake, cooling, etc.)* Have all receipts *Car had full inspection performed after purchase and has a clean bill of health. As you can see - any items needing attention were rectified and have been maintained.
This is a very honest and great Jeep, you don't find many like this - or you get the opposite - over-restored. This is a car you can get dirty, drive and it gets lots of attention. I haven't washed it since my ownership. . . I hope you don't mind!
I drove this car since last Winter and really enjoyed this Spring and Summer. As I said, it is completely reliable and turn key. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car across the country, however if you've driven an old Jeep - it's not the funnest car to drive on the freeway. I prefer to drive this car around town, to the beach, to the park 20-40 mph seems to be the ideal speed for this ride.
On the first start of the day it may turn over for 8-10 seconds but then fires right up and will fire right up for the rest of the day, no issues.
Smooth power in all gears, barely ever get into 4th unless you are at highway speeds.
Heater works and heats the cab just fine. All windows manual. All seats move and function properly. All lights and signals work.Horn works.
More pics upon request, send me a message. Im happy to assist you with a pre-purchase inspection.I'm also happy to talk on the phone.
