Ford F-250 1976 Description
1976 Factory Highboy Long bed F250.This pickup has seen the start of a restoration.
Interior: New floor pans have been welded in that appear to be done well and very solid. The interior has been painted black with a new black dash pad installed that has no cracks or sun damage. The seat is in good shape, the fuel tank doesn't appear to have any fuel in it since it was cleaned and painted. The door panels are in good shape, the headliner is in great shape with all the chrome trim present.
Exterior: The pickup has had the front clip pulled off to install the motor. The front clip is bolted onto the cab. There is some rust that is present above the tire on the driver bedside, the driver side door has some rust showing up that could be repaired. The tailgate is in good shape, the passenger bedside is in good shape with no present rust, the passenger door has some slight damage that could be fixed easily, the passenger front fender has some rust in the lower section that a patch panel would take care of if desired. The cab mounts appear to be solid. The engine bay has been painted black and looks pretty good, it appears to need a cleaning and that's all. The hood and grille are in really good shape. The exterior mirrors are in outstanding shape along with the trim. The lights, marker lenses and tail light are in the bucket of parts pictured.
Engine/Running gear: It has had a 385 Series (460 big block) motor installed correctly along with a 4 speed transmission and a NP205 transfer case. The motor condition is unknown and it has oil in it that looks good. It has a Dana 44 front axle with factory power steering option. It appears to have a Dana 60 rear axle. This is a factory highboy as it has the 6 leaf spring packs. This pickup will clear 37" tires if desired with these springs.
My knowledge on the pickup is limited. I purchased it from a a body shop that was doing the restoration and the owner ran out of funds and walked away. I had intentions of finishing it and driving on the ranch, my schedule hasn't permitted that to happen. It has a lot of good desirable parts for someone to use or finish to the desirable level and drive. These pickups are bulletproof and run forever. They are require limited maintenance and are easy to work on.
