Ford Mustang 1964 Description
I am a long time Mustang collector and restorer as a hobby. I have owned over 100 Mustangs own 8 today and have restored over70. You might want to pay attention to this since this is a REAL one of 190 Indy Pace Car mustang coupes ever built. I purchased the car from the original owner over 25 years ago. Car is from Jacksonville Fla spent its first life in Florida. How do you know it is the real thing. Data tag pace cars were painted pace car white, now wimbelton white like ALL other early Mustangs. I should have taken a picture of the original data tag with color code they have a different somewhat two tone interior. Check out the pictures of the underside of the car, they are unbelievable. The woman who owned this car before me died and my friend a professional old car appraiser found the car and purchased it for me. I have photos of the car before I cosmetically restored it. Everything on the car except for the steering wheel is original or replaced with NOS Ford parts. The drive train was resealed but never rebuilt. I have drive the car around 7,000 miles since I have owned it. The car runs and drives like a 67M should quiet and tight. Interior seats are original and like new still. Car was stripped to bare metal and painted single stage urethane with final coat with clear added. The last picture is the only sign of any metal work ever done on the car. I added the nicest original working (including clock) I have ever had and I have had alot of them. All pace cars had 260 2bb v8, automatic and power steering. This is interesting, I own a 28,000 original mile D code convertibl, 641/2 cars have slightly modified headlight buckets and a lip on the hood. When I received this car I was disappointed that this car did not have these items. Thru research Pace Cars did not have these modifications. Each dealer in 1964 received one pace car to do what they chose. There were 190 Ford Dealers, hence the production number of 190 EVER built. Like I said this car came from Jacksonville. I have the name of the Dealer somewhere. Car is super straight and all panels fit like they should. Engine area is correct but shows some dirt from being driven so little since completion. Please ask questions and be serious about purchasing the car. If I have any problems you will be reported to Ebay. This is a once in a lifetime to acquire a super rare Mustang that could be enjoyed as a nice driver, or just show with your collection. If should really be in a museum. Car shows as new, with no nicks, scratches, and beautiful nos chrome or original that is still that nice. Car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction. I can assist with shipping at new owners expense.
