The original date code correct 289 is complete and taken apart. There is rust in torque box and surrounding area. The rest of the car is unusually solid.
I have a brand new pair of front fenders. I have the original fenders but they're too rough. The rest of the front end parts are nice. The front frame rails and shock towers are solid, zero rust. Rear frame rails are excellent as well.
This would make a super nice car when done completely stock or with GT components added no. $7,500.
I added 2 pictures of restored 66 GT convertible to show what a finished car can look like. For more info call or text 573-230-6 two two two. ThanksOn Jul-07-17 at 14:52:30 PDT, seller added the following information:
All of the convertible glass is there and in good condition. The power steering cylinder, control valve and hoses are new. Tires are good and on the original wheels. The seat frames are rough, in fact the drivers seat bottom is broken. I do not have the AM 8 track radio, or the original carburetor and intake manifold. The original dash pad is excellent - no cracks. There are numerous boxes, containers, and a trunk full of parts. With that being said I'm sure there are some pieces missing. If there is something in particular you're concerned about give me call, text or send an email. I'd be glad to investigate it for you. I can be reached at 573-230-6222 8am to 8pm central. As you can tell from the original owner vintage pictures the car spent it's life out west. The neet ol pics will stay with car for posterity.
