I am selling this 1948 chevy 1/2 ton 5 window truck that rides and drives and stops. The thing that were done to this truck are a complete tune up points plugs condesor carb rebuild and a 12 volt coil running off a 12 volt battery. the wire harness is not hooked up and should be replaced due to age but it is there. It is running off of the battery right now since the 6 volt generator is not hooked up. If you elect to leave this truck 6 volt you can hook up a 6 volt coil battery and hook the original wire harness up and you should have lights and guages. All of the gears shifted like they should when driving but may need a adjustment to be smoother on the downshifts. Only the rear brakes are done so the truck stops off of the rear brakes. (front brakes needs new brake cylinders and lines) I did not clean out the original gas tank so it is running off a aux gas tank in the cab. the one I used does not go with the truck. The floor pans had rust but we repaired them with new metal welded in. The doors open and shut the way they should and the windows go up and down. Both door windows have cracks as pictured (jim carter trucks has them for around $45 each) the rear windows and corner rear windows were replaced with new glass and rubber moldings. The box floor has a sheet of plywood in it. The tailgate opens and shuts the way it should. It has a daily driver type paint job on it that is a 20 footer but if you get close it could use a wet sand and buff. The fenders still have some dingles and dings in them as pics and video show and there was some filler used here and there when the truck was painted. nothing crazy in my opinion. The tires are servicible and hold air but should be replaced. The seat has a cover on it and they should be reupholstered. Undertand that you are buying a truck that has been brought to a level where you can drive it have a decent look and continue with the things it needs but it is not show quality. I would highly recommend as everybodys opinion on what a classic unrestored truck should be is diffrerent that you come and inpsect the truck or hire ebay to do a independant inspection for you before bidding. The pictures and video make it look like a 5 footer even though in my opinion it is a 20 footer. make sure to ask questions so you are happy when you buy this truck. This truck starts up everytime when I want to drive it and as the video shows I averaged 40-50 mph and it drove the way a 1948 truck should drive.The speedo works. My video shows in the beginning that it is a 1949 but it is a 1948. It comes with a clean matching numbers to the vin plate iowa title ready for you to register. The plates and toppers do not go with the sale. I require a 500 dollar non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. If I do not get the deposit within the timeframe or before you come for the truck I willa ssume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it.
