The Series 52 was one of the rarest bodies produced due to being introduced in the final year of production. Back in its prime this car was practical. reliable and a functional automobile. This car has been restored to make it more practical and reliable to serve as an often used wedding livery vehicle. It features a 350 CI 8 cylinder engine from a 1980 Chevelle Malibu and an automatic transmission. Other features include AC. heat. stereo system and all around disc brakes. The beautiful white exterior and gleaming white interior is certainly a crowd pleaser. Complete built-in Mini Bar in the back seat. There is a crack in the driver’s side window. which will need to be addressed and some very minor paint cracking on the fenders. barely noticeable and easily remedied. This vehicle runs very well. is currently being used for a livery service and is always garaged. The LaSalle was considered one of General Motors most prestigious tweener model marketed to those who loved the Cadillac design but needed a more affordable car. The Series 52 was one of the rarest bodies produced due to being introduced in the final year of production. Back in its prime this car was practical. reliable and a functional automobile. The last La Salles of 1940 offered revised trim and standard turn signals; the new Series 52 model introduced a 123-inch wheelbase. an extra 5 horsepower under the hood (to 130hp) thanks to a larger Carter carburetor. a smoother clutch. and chassis refinements including a beefier frame and a cross-link stabilizer attaching the rear axle to the frame. This original beauty designed by legendary designer Harley Earl has had a complete restoration of its exterior and interior and features the original Flathead V8 Engine. 3 Speed manual transmission. push-button start. original 6 Volt set-up. original AM Radio and new carpeting through-out. The beautiful white exterior and gleaming white interior will certainly be a crowd pleaser. LaSalle aficionados will know that the biggest expense on the restoration end comes in re-plating or replacing the chrome.
