We at Midnite motor Classics in Margate, Florida are proud to present
AN OPPORTUNITY TO OWN
this classic
1940 Cadillac LaSalle
This 1940 Cadillac LaSalle is a true American Classic. 1940 was the final year for the LaSalle, making it more desirable as a collectible.
This one was restored and modified in the late 1990's. Its powered by a Chevy 350 V8 mated to a 350 automatic transmission. It has spent most of its last 10 years in storage. Its a nice driver now, and it is a great candidate for a fresh restoration, mostly in need of body work.
If you're a serious buyer, PLEASE call Ed for a complete run-down on the condition of the car, he can be much more specific for you.

This is a NO RESERVE auction - Bid To Win

The exterior is in good shape overall - the body is straight and the paint shines. There are several rust bubbles around the car.
GM killed off the LaSalle model because it was eating away at Cadillac sales. With such beautiful lines, its no wonder why.
The glass is missing from the right side mirror.
The interior was redone using more modern components, including a driver's seat that has a power height adjustment (seat heaters are not hooked up)
The dash has been updated with digital gauges (speedo no working).
Other features include air conditioning and power windows (right side window is intermittent)
The trunk is power operated. It lowers just fine, but it needs an assist going up.
The car runs well. Components include a 350ci GM V8, 350 transmission, an Edelbrock carb, and 10 bolt rear end. This LaSalle has power steering and power brakes (front disc, rear drum)
This car has a complete new fuel system from tank to carb.
There are also power "door poppers". Just use a specialized tool (AKA a stick) to hit the switch through the fender vent. The left side door popper is not working.
There is also a manual release for the doors under the hood.
The underside of the car looks god - no rot.
There are 2 photo albums showing the entire restoration process for the car. Dates on the pictures indicate the work was done in 1998.
If you'd like to inspect and test drive a vehicle, please call for an appointment. We do not keep regular office hours, and vehicles are locked indoors when we're not at the office. Please be sure to scroll down and read our terms of sale before you bid.
