Cadillac Eldorado 1957 Description
Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a dealer will post all but the most flattering of professionally finished photographs. We prefer to post the many photos taken of the car, in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.

There's no better example of GM's styling and engineering prowess than the 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz - drive one like this particular example and you will see why - its hard to believe that this car was built over 58 years ago! In 1956 the Cadillac Seville two door coupe and the Eldorado Biarritz two door convertible were born and featured the massive grille and bullet noses with distinct shark fins unique just to the Eldorado that year and they were one of the highest priced cars of their day - and with good reason - fifties excess had virtually reached its peak with Cadillac boasting bigger cars with more chrome and larger fins than ever before! These cars bristled with the latest in modern appointments and had few rivals in the luxury market with a recession making owning one only for the very privileged elite with only 1, 00 Biarritz convertibles being built in 1957. Purchased from its most recent long-time southern California owner's estate with a stated and quite obvious 42, 86 original miles and obviously always garaged, covered and well maintained. The floor boards, trunk and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely original, solid and rust-free and the car has no signs of any accidents whatsoever - obviously an always cherished 'Garage Queen' since new if there ever was one. The previous southern California owner had purchased the car in 9/2003 from a collector and reportedly long time owner. The car has a very striking and a very presentable older repaint in its original factory 'Black' color paint and the car boasts its mostly all original interior, including its original 'Light Red' leather seats trim showing only very mild and acceptable patina for its age, its original dashboard and door panels and with its correct original 'Black color (Code 2) power top having been replaced to original specification. All the original chrome is also in very presentable and quite exceptional condition and the car boasts its original and perfect fitting factory parade boot. The 365/300HP 4 barrel V8 engine with its matching # 5732037586 stamped on the front side of the crankcase above the water pump is original to the car and matches the engine tag on the door and is extremely strong and powerful and sounds absolutely magnificent and this particular car drives absolutely magnificently - must be driven to be believed - does not miss a beat and purrs like a kitten - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable daily driver that will give any modern day car a run for it's money! The transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and the car is an absolute pleasure to drive! All the options work as they should including all the power options, the power windows, power seats and the power top! The car boasts its original and virtually unblemished Sabre wheels including its original spare Saber wheel and jack in the truck, its original T3 Headlamps, original cylinder heads and from looking at the photographs you will see that you could literally eat your lunch off either the original engine or trunk compartments - the car is in quite unbelievable, unmolested and virtually all stock unrestored condition and in a virtual time warp, as good as the day it left the showroom floor in 1957! The car has its original 1957 owners manual, receiving tag, Autronic eye & Electric clock instruction tags which hung from these options when new, and most amazing of all, most of the car's original factory stickers still remain in place under the hood on the AC Crankhouse Breather, Windshield washer unit, Air cleaner, Trunk etc!Although rarely driven the car was obviously always well maintained and always garaged. Recent mechanical work at 42, 65 miles included:Remove & Replace BeltsRepair Left Header Pipe & Replace Rear Left MufflerRemove & Replace Heater HosesRemove & Replace Front Wheel Cylinders & Brake HosesRemove & Replace Rear Wheel CylindersOverhaul Master CylinderRemove & Replace Wheel BearingsThis is an extraordinarily rare opportunity to own a great daily driving and certainly local car show ready example of a mostly completely original 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible, 1 of only 1, 00 of these rare luxury convertibles built in 1957, in absolutely stunning driving and looking condition with only 42K undocumented but stated and quite believable original miles since new!For further information contact West Coast Classics through EBay or on 310-399-3990 during regular California business hours.
