Cadillac Eldorado 1984 Description
Beautiful 1984 Eldorado Biarritz - SurvivorIf you're in the market for a low dollar collector car that can be driven and enjoyed to the fullest extent, you've officially struck gold. In 1984 Cadillac officially introduced a convertible version of its highly optioned Eldorado Biarritz.Because of their exclusive status, these cars are now highly sought by a specialized group of collectors; and this mostly original cruiser is a great example of why they continue to be so popular. This Biarritz has been well-maintained and currently shows just 49.975 original miles. The car spent most of its life in the hands of a collector as one close look reveals.
EXTERIOR: There's no sign of rust or body damage anywhere. Its long fenders are straight, its door bottoms are clean, and every panel of the body shines in its original Firemist Red color. The big chrome bumpers and grille are in excellent condition andthe absolutely brilliant white vinyl top (NEW) fits tightly and is fully operational. Windows are all functional albeit the 2 rear are, as typical, a little slow. The car's original emblems are present and most are accented in vintage gold. (see pictures)
INTERIOR:This car's tufted white leather seating remains soft and suppleand is without cuts, tears or loose seams. It's as comfortable as sitting in your mother's living room. The red carpeting and red dash with wood grain accents is a striking contrast to the white leather seats and door panels, all are in very good condition. A full array of digital gauges keep an eye on the car's mechanicals and the electronic climate control (with updated AC system) keeps and eye on the comfort of the occupant.
MECHANICAL:Power comes from a reliable 4.1 liter HT-4100 V8 which provides an excellent mix of torquey thrust and thrifty fuel economy. This engine is a great luxury car power plant that happily goes about its business without troubling the driver or passengers. Dutiful maintenance in it's first 50,000 miles should assure a reliable next 50,000 miles. Service records available upon request. The only transmission available on the Biarritz was GM's sturdy Turbo Hydromatic 325-4L 4-speed automatic and it shifts through it's gears as smoothly today as it did new. The independent coil spring suspension still "rides like a Cadillac" to soak up bumps and road imperfections while remaining composed in turns. Naturally there's factory power steering and the brakes are power assisted discs at all four corners.
These '84 and '85 Cadillac'sreally were among the last of the traditional American luxury cars, where isolation from the road was paramount and styling ques tantamount. They can be a lot of fun to drive and they STILL have a "touch of class" and quality about them that makes you feel special when you're behind the wheel. Not a lot of these cars were saved as collector's items, making clean, low-mileage specimens like this one very difficult to find.
Let me know if you need additional information or pictures.
Happy bidding and good luck.
