Buick Grand National 1987 Description
I am selling a wonderfully maintained 1987 Buick T Type. If you aren't familiar with the T Type it is the same engine, turbo, intercooler, trans, posi rear as the Grand National just not Black. My car has 90,500 miles and has been mechanically restored over the last year. The original numbers matching engine was rebuilt by Cope Bros machine shop. Derrike Cope won 1990 Daytona 500 and Cope Bros is well known in the Northwest for building high performance and race engines. The engine was balanced and water pump, cam sensor, crank sensor, coil and ignition module all replaced during rebuild. Turbo was rebuilt by turbo technologies, the transmission was rebuilt by Kerry Holmgran who is also well known in the Northwest for building race transmissions and the Buick has a recent Flow Master exhaust.
The car fax is clean, the Buick hasn't been wrecked or abused. The car was repainted several years ago by the original owner. Mid 80s GM car's had clear coat issues. It looks great still, has solid body including floors and a lift is available for inspection if you want. There are a couple of small bubbles under the original vinyl top, but not enough for me to warrant pulling the top off to address. It hasn't changed in the years I've owned the car. The dash is perfect and interior is original with some wear on carpet. I have the original window sticker, original air cleaner (has KN presently), original coil, ignition module, original speakers and about 20 years of the Grand National Newsletter.
The power antenna isn't working, but I don't listen to the Radio. I installed a FM modulator that allows you to stream via-bluetooth to the stock radio which works fine. If you want a nice Turbo Buick this is it. Why am I selling? Other interests I have 12 cars and am down sizing to make room for a larger airplane. During my ownership the car has been kept in a climate controlled airplane hangar.
