Buick Regal 1987 Description
This car has been in the family since 1991. It was willed to a family friend who drove it for two years who sold it to me. It has 155k original miles. The car is all original and completely stock. never modified. Every single thing works. Every light bulb, very indicator, ear defrost, eater, c, oon-roof, verything. Ive only put 5 miles on it but it seems to run good and shift good. Has column shift. Interior: Plastic speaker cover/ defrost vent cracked. The rest of the dash is excellent. Drivers seat and door panel show normal wear for the mileage. Carpet is wasted. The person who had it before me was an absolute slob and whatever he spilled on the carpet would stay there. The rest of the interior: dash board, assenger seat, oor panel, ack seat, ide panels, ead liner etc. are very nice. Body has no rust what so-ever. Tilt steering column needs to be repaired. The wheel moves up and down and left and right and will not lock into position. Ive driven it like this but its not safe. The car sat for over a year when I got it and the brakes didn't work well. All I did was tap on the pressure switch a few times and the brakes started working and still do. Still, hat will have to be dealt with because I wouldn't trust them. From what I've read its a common problem. Hood ornament and power antennae are missing. When you turn on the stereo you can hear a motor humming over where the antennae mounts but there's nothing to push up. Front bumper has a slight buckle to it from a low speed impact of some sort. Probably happened while parking or something minor. I don't know if they can straighten bumpers but if they can this would be fairly easy. Everything still lines up and the chrome is nice. No body damage except the plastic between the bumper and the headlight bezel was cracked. Headlight and bezel not damaged. Front windshield has a couple of small chips from freeway driving but no cracks. All glass original. Everything on the car is original except an aftermarket engine temp unit that can easily be removed. Paint is faded and heat checked on the drivers side where the sun shone on it every day. Body has a few very small door dings and one very small dent/scratch on right front fender. All very minor. I can tell you as a former paint/body man, his body is straight. It has never been in an accident. With very minor body work this things gonna paint out like new. Chrome is very excellent overall. Top of door molding has a tiny dent in the chrome on both doors. This can easily be massaged out by someone who does that sort of thing. Very minor. The rest of that molding is in perfect condition and worth saving. In fact all the chrome on this car could go right back on new paint with a little massage and polish. Even the chrome fender molding is in nice shape. All in all if your looking to restore one of these you would be hard pressed to find a better car to start with. Ive restored five cars and I only wish I had something this straight and this complete as a starting point. Let me know if you have specific questions.
