Willys Willys 1954 Description
I bought this a project but had to sent it out to have the work done due to health problems. I thought about using it on my farm but I can no longer get in it with the top on and don't want to ruin it.
I spent 11K on the cost, parts and labor. All the receipts go with it along with manuals. The engine was overhauled by the previous owner who wanted to restore it. He said he put about 100 miles on it and I have done about the same. Where I spent the most was in the drive train and brake systems, also new fuel pump, generator, starter, regulator, battery, carb, and running down missing parts. I then sent the seats and door panels out and had them re-covered. There is a dent at the passengers running board where I backed my tractor into it, but it is not real bad. Pans and floor is not rusted and there is no rust on the jeep except a little surface rust from my lack of painting it.
This jeep has Antique Virginia tags on it and I have driven it to town a few times. It runs like a Jeep, drives like a Jeep, and sounds like a Jeep. With the exception of replacing the foot starter with a push button, windshield wiper motors with electric, and adding turn signals everything is original to the car. It is 6VDC.
I did not spend much time painting the engine or working under thehood making it pretty, as my plan was to use it on my farm and not as a show car. It wouldn't take much however to get it to the point of complete restoration, or you could just get in it and start driving.
