Willys CJ2A 1947 Description
The All American Jeep CJ2A was built from 1945 to 1949 and was the first civilian Jeep to come off of the Toledo, Ohio assembly line. Willys marketed these "Universal" Jeeps to Farmers and other folks with "tough jobs to do". The CJ2A has several features that weren't found on military Jeeps, including a tailgate, larger headlights and an external fuel filler neck. The vehicle's "Go-Devil" 134 cubic inch engine developed 60 horsepower and was mated to the Dana 3 speed transmission and Spicer transfer case making these Jeeps practically unstoppable. Top speed was advertised at 60 mph. This 1947 Willys CJ2A Jeep is in absolutely stunning condition. The vehiclewas professionally and meticulously restored with no expense spared and iswithout a doubt one of the nicest examples still in existence. The vehicle came to us as alow mileage(34,000 original, solid running Jeep in great condition that deserved to bebrought back to it's former glory. Finished in the original Luzon Red paint with the also original Universal Beige wheels, the original engine has been professionally rebuilt along with new bearings in the transmission and transfer case.TheJeep runs and drives just like the day it rolled out of Toledo with no squeeks, rattles or groans. It sits right, (all new leaf springs, bushings, shacklesand shocks) it stops right ( all new brake shoes, master cylinder, wheel cylinders and lines) and it runs perfectly (rebuilt engine, new carb, and tune up) and the pictures show how it looks. If you've been waiting for a REALLY nice 2A to come up for sale, here it is.... The reserve on this vehicle is set at quite a bit less than what it cost to restore but obviously I'm hoping that it goes for substantially more than the reserve... Either way once the reserve is met high bidder will own one heck of a nice piece of history that will absolutely increase in value over time. Best of luck bidding on this Willys, any questions please ask and I'll answer truthfully and quickly. Please check my feedback on other vehicles we've sold (we build some really nice stuff :-) .Anyway, thanks for looking, if I think of anything else I'll add it later. BTW, Did I mention that this Jeep took 1st place in the very competitive "restored vehicle" class at Boston's World of Wheels this year ? Yep, it's that nice. Thanks again for checking it out.OH ! Shipping... I'll make myself available to work with whatever shipper you decide on, shipping for this rather small vehicle should be very reasonable. International shipping ? Yes !
