Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we celebrate our 17th year in the classic and muscle car business. This is a fine example of one of the last of the true Studebakers, a 1964 Gran Turismo Hawk. This beauty is equipped with its original 289 V8, original 4-speed manual transmission, power steering, power brakes, and factory air conditioning which has been converted to accept R-134. Originally purchased by a young doctor whose name is engraved on the dash, this Astra White GT has always been maintained and garaged. After 35 years with the original owner, the car made brief stops at an auction house and in a collection, then was purchased by the last owner in 2006. An avid Studebaker enthusiast, he had the engine overhauled at 52,000 miles (currently 62,630) and spent approximately $12,500 for repairs and improvements. The car runs cool, has the original jack and spare tire (never used!), and drives flawlessly. This is an outstanding example of a car that was just a little too far ahead of its time.
