Replica/Kit Makes 1953 Description
Hi,This is the story of TINDER BOX the show/cruise car. It started out as a pile of 1/4" and 1/8th" plate. I had a 40 ford drilledfront axle with spindles and spring off 30 model a ford. I had a53 Studebaker rearend with steering box and column, ront hubs, nd clear title from OHIO. I started by building the frame from 4 pc's of 1/4 " steel 3' by 6'. I cut and strapped the rails you see making it a 2 1/2" wide I beam,( How manycurved/welded I beam frames have you seen?)14" kickup in the front and 30" in the rear. to run cross spring and have 6" ground clearance with the 31 chevy wheels. 31" tall. 19" wheels 6 pin..drilled a lot of 1" holes and tapered each.custom made radius rods with holes front and rear. Model T rear spring.1961 GMC straight 6 with a 7.2 power stroke diesel turbo with homemade manifold and piping to carb. (blue pipes) 350 turbo and 3500 stall converter, okar@ shifter/gas pedal. The body is all hand made outof red oak/ 1/4" 1/8th" plate on cowl 1" square tube skeleton frame under wood. suicide doors.fuel tank is 1/8th" tigged plate. 10 gal. pick up bed is parts washer and removeable for a roadster look. the roof is hand made like airplane wing covered in fiberglass (hair not screen) glass istintedsafety glass . grill is 38 ford truck sectioned down to fit brass 52 dodge honey comb radiator with 16" electric fan headlites are Model A, ail lite are 50's truck turn signals are Suzuki motor cycle. brakes on front are speedway kit. every nut and bolt and after market part was new 9 grade.5 shows 5 wins Best of show/best custom/ and 3 peoples choice awards, drove this car for 3 yrs now. It drives like a sprung car from the 30's stops well but still needs back brakes. the wood seat is better than you think but I would be 5' 10" or shorter to buy this as it is tight for my son who is 6' 1" keep that in mind. but he could drive it it just wasn't that good for him.Sound is really nice with turbo/and stall converter.kind of like B61 Mack if you know what I mean.Runs like a clock still need shocks (Would help with recoil) SoWhat you see is What you get. One bad ass one of akind street rod titled as a 53 Studebaker . I titled/tagged/insured as 53 Studebaker(that is what I started with)custom that I valued at 25000. I have sell or I never would. SELLING AS IS WITH NO WARRANTY OFFERED NO RETURN . so look it over good or call me Chuck 440 773 4733. anytime Thanks for looking at my one off car...SEEYA.......
