Studebaker Tristar Starlight Commander 1953 Description
Up for auction is this original '53 Tri-Star coupe. Numbers match. Original components. The car has been disassembled and stripped and cleaned and painted, ncluding all new wiring harnesses. Dash has been stripped and painted. Engine has been disassembled and gone through. The valves and seats have been ground. The carburetorhas been re-built. The fuel pump, enerator and starter have beendisassembledand inspected and restored as necessary. The radiator is new, attery is new, utomatic transmission has been serviced and inspected, ront pump seal behind the torque converter replaced, ransmission works well. All the brakes and wheel cylinders have been done. Brake drums are like new, ut have been turned just to freshen them up. The interior has to be finished. New door panels have been made, ut have to be covered. All the trim and clips are there. The rest of the interior has to be re-covered including carpet. New headliner with the car, ot installed as of yet. The car has been restored to the original configuration. Every nut, olt, ose clamp and clips, tc., re factory including the wheels. The new owner may want to change wheel rims to accommodate radial tires. Engine is a 232 Commander V-8, riginal equipment, -barrel carburetor. The odometer shows 63,408 miles and throughout the restoration it correlates with all of the spring bushings, ontrol arm bushings being in good condition. As well as, t had what appears to be it's first set of replacement brake shoes and second set of tires. The original wide whitewall spare tire was in the trunk. Interior parts are included with this car including new door panels. This is a rust-free California car, owever there was a small amount of fender rust when I got it which has all been replaced with new sheet metal. The chassis was rust-free. Some of the chrome trim is new, ome is good original, nd some of the pot metal needs to be replaced. The paint is single-stage PPG Delstar acrylic enamel mixed with hardeners and reducers. Color is Canyon Red. The paint was applied in a paint booth. This is a beautifully restored, riginal car EXCEPT for the interior which is why the price is so low for this car.SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY, LEASE!!
