Studebaker Truck 1959 Description
Up for your consideration is a 1959 Studebaker short bed truck. This truck has had many modifications done already and is in black primer ready for bodywork. The engine and transmission were pulled from a 1985 Chevy El Camino with around 75,000 miles. The small block 305 runs well and has an Edelbrock carb and shorty ceramic coated headers running out to dual 2 chamber Flowmasters. The front end is from a Plymouth Volare with adjustable torsion bars and sway bar.. All new bushings have been installed along with new shocks and front brake pads. There are power front disc brakes up front. The rear end is a Ford 9" with all new drum brakes. A custom drive shaft was built as well. All new brake and fuel lines were plumbed. An after market 14 gallon poly tank is underneath the bed with a custom filler in the bed. On the inside is a custom chrome tilt GM style steering column with a custom steering wheel hooked up to the stock Volare steering box and GM power steering pump. The stock bench seat has been rebuilt with new cushion and covered in brown and orange vinyl with white piping and stitching. The fuel gauge is the only gauge that works on the inside. There has been a new 21 circuit wiring harness installed, ut it will need to be finished. It has running lights hooked up and all of the engine wiring done. The rear tail lights are 1950 Pontiac with the blue dot in the middle. The frame has been notched in the back to accommodate the low stance. The wheels have been powder coated with Bomber Orange with a candy and have newer Falkan 215 70r 15 tires with a 1" whitewall. The truck does have rust and will need bodywork as does all vintage vehicles. There are dents and dings all over that will need to be bodyworked. The bottom of the fenders and doors have rust through and so does the bed close to the back of the cab. All of the hard work has been has been completed, ive it to a paint and body man and have a nice truck or drive it the way it is. This truck has a clear California title and is currently registered with specialized plates with DMV. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time as this truck is listed for sale locally as well. Thank you for your time.
