Pontiac Trans Am 1979 Description
Parting with my 79 Trans Am that I have over $25,000 invested into. The most recent was the interior redone including new leather seats (OEM) except for the gold embroidered T/A bird I had done on each head rest front and back. I also had the under side of car completely gone through andreplaced every bushing and powder coated it, new duel 3" exhaust (sounds great), engine compartment gone through to make original. All work was done at Bobs Auto Restoration in South Bend, Indiana. They also put on a new front end panel because the old one had spider cracks. The Engine was in good shape when I bought it and theprevious owner said they had redone it. I have no record of it but no reason to doubt it. Runs great, shifts great, no issues. It has some minor things that could use some attention but it was a show winner when I bought it and after I put over 10K into it I have not had it at any shows.Changing up some things so letting go of some of my collection. I have owned the car for about 4 years now and have driven it maybe 1000 miles. Always starts and drives out fine. I do keep it on a battery tender in the winter and sometimes in the summer if not driven for a while. The A/C works, Theradio works, there are no leaks. The restoration shop put the power windows in the door when it was done and I did not care for that so I bought a new center console and new door panels to convert the power windows into the center console but have not gotten to it. The parts are still wrapped in the boxes they came in and will go with the car. In case you want to change it. The restoration shop claims thepower window switches go in the door but I had not seen that. your call, drive as is or make therelatively easy switch. The drivers door has a paint chip from the window when adjusting the fit hit the paint. See pic.The radio is the new, old school looking type radio. So it is digital but looks time correct.I am offering this car to highest bid over 14KWell worth it.
