Pontiac Trans Am 1980 Description
I Purchased this car about 20 years ago. It was sitting in a garage for how long I do not know. It was covered with dust in a dimly lit area, ut I could tell what it was. I was doing a delivery at the time to this home. I asked about it and was told it was for sale the owners were moving the following week were anxious to sell it. That day I made an offer and they took it. The car had been stolen and recovered and the steering column at the ignition was broken out, ou could start it with a screwdriver. So I proceeded to charge the battery turned the engine over with the screwdriver and it fired right up!!I proceeded to drive home with dust flying ! I put in a replacement ignition but never replaced the broken steering column ( see photo). It is still the same today everything operates as it should tilt, urn signals etc. To this day this car fires right up no smoke ever. This sits and handles like a Tran Am should. This car was RUSTPROOFED when new (see photo) and it served it well. It is as solid as they come. The only body repair was at the footwell on the passenger side a patch was put in. About 10years ago it was repainted with acrylic enamel, still have excess paint left that will go with the car. The paint is still sparkling. All the rubber seals on this car around the T-Tops trunk and doors are in excellent condition. Parts that I have replaced are as follows: Plugs and wires, ist.cap, as Tank and all new attached fuel lines, OS fm-am radio the original radio had a cassette feature that did not operate my father in law worked for Pontiac and got me the radio that is in there now. The original radio goes with the car (see photo). New carpeting and pad and door sills. The shaker air scoop is functional I painstakingly slotted it out through the ribs you cannot see it but it sucks air through it. It also has 4 brand new tires. A straight back Vertex exhaust was installed. In a photo you will see a complete GM manual that shows everything you need to know about the car from mechanical to body and chasis it is a real gem. All the documentation that you can get goes with the car as you can see from the photos. The car has An Antique-R clear title the plate is transferrable in Penna. The only reason for selling this car is I am way past retirement age and it is time to let some of the toys go.
