Pontiac GTO 1972 Description

In 1972 Pontiac did not ever offer or build a factory GTO convertible. 1972 was the first year since 65 that the GTO was an option package not a model. That being said what I have up for auction is my 1972 Pontiac Lemans Sport with the factory T41 Endura Styling Option. This car is the factory equivalent to a base 1972 GTO convertible . I purchased this car from the family of the original purchaser and it was a true one owner car. The car is documented by the factory window sticker and most of the factory papers that I received from the original owners family. To begin with this is a rare factory Monarch Yellow (aka Daytona Yellow) car with some of the mostdesirable options. Most importantly the T41 Endura Styling Option package which included the Ram Air Hood and vented front fenders as well as the hard rubber front bumper. Next the original and all number matching 350 V8 engine with the Turbo Hydramatic transmission. This car has the optional Honeycomb wheels with brand new raised white letter tires, 69 AM/FM radio that works, 55 center mounted console with floor shifter, 41 power steering, L2 power front disc/rear drum brakes, 02 soft ray tinted glass and C60 Factory Air Conditioning. Over all a very high optioned car. The car was purchased new and brought directly to Florida so it retains all of it's original rust free southern metal and has never seen a harsh northern winter. The floors and undercarriage are all original and rust free, ossibly the cleanest I have ever seen that are un touched. Also this car has never been in any accidents. The 350 pontiac engine starts right up easily and runs strong and smooth. It has lots of power as it was never abused or run hard and only used by the man who purchased it new until I bought it. The transmission shifts perfectly and downshifts when you step on the accelerator. The steering is tight and responsive making this an easy and pleasurable car to drive. The Black convertible top is brand new including the glass rear window and works perfectly. Also all of the rubber weather strips have been replaced with new ones. The interior is all original with the exception of the carpet and some minor repair to the dashboard right in the center. With a new dash cover it would be perfect in my opinion. The A/C works and blows cool but it may need a re charge for use in hot weather. The paint job isextremely nice and shows no imperfections in my opinion. The trunk is highly detailed and includes a jack and spare tire. This is a rare car with the color and options as not many were built and how many still have all the original owner's documentation. These facts make this a very collectable anddesirable investment. The NADA Old Car Price Guide values this car at $53400 for high retail and $24750 for average retail. I believe the car in this condition and with it's originality and documentation should sell somewhere in between. I am open to offers as the car is for sale locally so feel free to call me. Otherwise please bid to own as all bids will be considered . I have done my best to describe this car but may have missed something important to you so if I did please call me before bidding.
