Pontiac Grand Prix 1973 Description
Up for sale is 1owner garage kept1973Pontiac Grand Prix Coupe mode J with 400 cubic inch V8 engine. This car was just purchased from the original owner who bought the car brand new in 1973. The car has been stored in his garage since 1990. The car was not only stored in a dry garage but also had 3 tarps over it to protect it. The car was parked there because the owner heard a noise coming from the engine which he described as a knocking noise. We do not know what the problem is but it could be a rod knocking or a tappet noise from his description. The engine is not locked up and can be turned over by hand with a wrench. This car has been extremely well preserved an cared for over the years. This is a True Southern Rust Free car and survivor with no body damage whatsoever. The car has no rust anywhere. The only rust we can find is some pinholes in the rear exhaust mufflers where the connect to the center pipe. That is it concerning rust. No holes or bubbling anywhere on this car Top Bottom or side period. All rocker panels, Floor pans, are completely rust free and have been the whole time. No repairs extremely solid. You can come inspect this car for yourself on weekdays 8-4 Central Time in downtown Birmingham Alabama. If you are a serious buyer we can also meet you on weekends. I can send pictures of any part of the car to you if needed. You will Not be disappointed from any rust or body issues on this car. This car is in a remarkable state in terms of body and sheet metal considering it is from 1973. The odometer shows 43,506 miles but I believe it probably has rolled over but I can not confirm or deny this. This car is so original with the factory white paint and near perfect Ox-Blood interior. The dash has no cracks, warps or peeling anywhere. The original headliner is solid with no rips or tears or discoloration. All warning lights gauges switches and the factory original radio are there and look great and are functional. The seats are excellent with the exception of 1 small place on the drivers outer top side that just needs recoloring you barely even notice it. See pictures. The seats are great firm and are flawless with that 1 very small exception. The original Carpet and interior still have the factory smell on them. It has never been smoked in and there is no mildew or water damage. The interior is a strong 9.0 out of 10. The steering wheel has no wear and looks new. The car has not been washed you can tell in the picture where 1 of the tarps ended on the front hood. It should clean up great. If we can we will wash it and add more pics. All of the glass is great no cracks and is clear. The inner rear view mirror is missing but I do not think that is a big deal. The car has all 5 original wheels and the original jack in the trunk. All emblems, tread plates, factory stickers and decals are still on this car. Both original General Motors Keys are included for the ignition and trunk. Both original owners manuals and the tire manual are included with the car. Under the hood everything is complete and original. We do not have a battery and did not try to crank this car. We did hook up a battery charger and tested the electronics, and the engine does turn over with a wrench. I do not know much about these cars but this obviously was a powerful luxurious car when it was new. The value of these classic cars is only going to increase. If I had the time I would fix it up. This car has 3 big strong points 1) The body is rust free and straight words cannot explain how rust free this car is. 2)1-owner garaged kept 3) The interior is almost perfectand smells new and the whole car is so original. Of course it may need some engine work. The starting bid is a steal any questions please call us 205-251-5800 or 1-800-533-3839. You can ask for Richard or David. Payment is due within 48 hours of end of listing. Car must be picked up within 6 business days of end of auction. Please come look at this car. Someone is getting a great deal a rare Rust free American Muscle Car that just needs some engine work. The only other things this car may need isthe bumper filler panels are missing. I do not think anyone will be disappointed with this car. Thanks for looking.
