Pontiac GTO 1970 Description
1970 PONTIAC GTO 455HO **Updated****Now including in the sale is a 1971 455 engine with x66 heads, 455 motor mounts, and a set of 6x-8 heads. (see pictures below)** (comes with an engine stand)
NO RESERVE!!
Project car. Needs to be restored. It is a real #242 car w/ PHS documents. (1 of 1761) Originally a Cardinal Red exterior w/ Sandalwood interior (bucket seats). It came with a 455 HO engine and a 3 speed, but both are gone.
It currently has a TH400 (71-PA) and a disassembled Pontiac 350 (1970 block, was running whendissasembled. It's a very solid car and pretty rust free but it does need some body work. Small rust holes are in the toe board on the driver's driver side and the passenger side quarter has a little bit of rust in the lip. Has had a new driver side quarter panel installed at some point in the past and has a few dings that would need to be pulled otherwise, solid, no rust. It had a sunroof which I have removed and it will need a new roof skin to close it up. The passenger fender is in excellent condition and the driver side needs a patch at the lower section near firewall and wheel opening (patch panels for driver fender are includedin sale). Hood is straight though it has minor rust near the vents towards the windshield (common on these hoods). The endura bumper is in great shape (no gouges) and has been sanded down. The front and rear valence panels are rough but could possible be reused. The core support could be reused if you fixed the mounting holes at the bottom, otherwise it's in great shape.Comes with two sets of front wheel wells. No front windshield and rear glass but do have all other glass and in good condition.
Interior has been stripped, the rear seats springs are in great condition just need recovered. Front buckets have not been stripped down but from what I see I expect the frames to be ingreat shape as well like the rear.
The frame has been stripped down and painted in KBS rust seal. All new front end components (ball joints, rubber, idler arm, etc..), new steering gear box, front and rear springs, front and rear shocks, new rear upper and lower tubular control arms (Tubular UMI), new e-brake, front drums converted to disc, rear drums rebuilt (all new), and had the 12 bolt rear end (3.31) disassembled inspected and reassembled by Arizona Differential (also had the tubes welded by them and then powder coated) Only thing the frame needs is plumbed with gas and brake lines which are not included. Steering column has been completely stripped and rebuilt with all new bushings and springs.
Parts I do not have:radiator, front and rear windshield, brake lines, fuel lines, wiper motor (but do have a core), motor mounts, drive shaft, and rear bumper (I do have all the rear bumper brackets). Also no gas tank, master cylinder, or headliner. No interior door panels (but I do have the metal bracing for front and rear both sides that came on original door panels). I do not have any shifter linkage (just the auto transmission (minustorq converter)) There may be other small items missing as this was a project when i got it.
If you have anyquestions please ask. Thank you.
