The story - The GTO was purchased with the intent of creating a quality driver car.The frame and body were in excellent shape prior to painting. The engine was rebuilt. That is where the project stopped. The car has been sitting in storage and the owner no longer has any interest in finishing the car.

The car is very dirty with dust and dirt from the body shop and storage. If you do not mind cleaning and detailing, this car could be yours. Quality starting point for finishing the car.

Body: No accident original body, nose, fenders, doors, rockers & floor pans are nice rust free metal. Body was stripped to bare metal and repainted original color polar white. The top was painted flat. Owner was going to reinstall the vinyl top. The front and rear window channels are not rusted. The paint has not been buffed. A pair of professionally restored grilles and tail light assemblies is included. The hood will be reinstalled for shipping. Front & rear valances painted and ready for installation. The rear bumper is straight but will need rear chroming.

Frame / suspension: Frame is clean w/ no damage. Body was removed and the frame was cleaned and painted. All suspension components were replaced. The rear drum brakes were upgraded to 4 wheel discs using GM later model components. Original coded 10 bolt rear end still in place.

Interior: Red interior - needs restoration. Dash pad is cracked near the upper right pillar molding. Seat covers need replaced due to age, (new PUI seat covers included), carpet shot, door panels could be cleaned up but should be replaced. Entire interior needs replaced for the most part. Console nice but needs material replacement. A/C ducting, etc is complete.

Engine: VIN numbered matching block w/ correct coded/dated heads, intake & exhaust manifolds. Engine was rebuilt - never fired and sat in a damp environment. It will need going through to ensure drivability. The engine is currently disassembled but can be put back in the car for shipping. Heads are original. Matching numbers carburetor and distributor are included. All the usual wear items are missing & need replacement (hoses - belts etc.) Breather base is nice, needs restoration.

Transmission: VIN numbered matching turbo 400 automatic. Internal condition is unknown.

Air conditioning - The major components are included. The whole system will need to be rebuilt.

Missing: Radiator - gas tank - vinyl top - radio - exhaust system -miscellaneous hardware parts if you don’t see what you’re looking for in the photos then I don’t have it.

Recap -1970 GTO Coupe with matching numbers drive train.A no rust or rot high quality paint job.Refurbished frame and suspension components. Major restoration done. Good car to finish for the person who does not want to perform body work. The body and VIN matching engine block.
