Pontiac GTO 1970 Description
Up for saleis a 1970 GTO finished in its original Bermuda blue paint with blue interior. 455 H.O. engine, original TH400 auto trans, original 12-bolt 3.08 rearend Posi. Only 1986 of these cars were ever built. this is a rare 455 HO GTO. ALL doors, panels, undercarriage, axle, rear-end and transmission are original to the car (even the heads are original 1970 to this car #64). However, the engine blockhas been changedthe stamp on it shows it as a 1971 455 HO. This car was born as a 455 HO RARE car 1 of 1986 (see built sheet) and the engine was replaced but to another period correct 455 HO engine. The car is newly painted almost a year ago; but it is not perfect. :( Several of you are askingabout paint flaws! I Just added two photos to show you the two flaws that I see in the paint. However, the car still looks great and does have new paint. This 'GOAT' runs and drives like a new car. you can't hardly get a a regular GTO at the price that I have discounted this one to... Also, several of you wanted a picture of the underneath of the car; I just added a photo to my ad. All what you see is original undercarriagethe car did not have rust (except for left quarter panel which got patched). The car runs and drives like new! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
This GTOhas power steering and brakes but no A/C and no interior power options.
This car has been completely gone through, the drivetrain has been freshened up with new gaskets, seal and paint but not rebuilt, the trans and rearend have been serviced, all the bushings, brakes, ball joints, "wearables", etc. have been replaced; This is one ofTHE BESTDRIVING classic cars I have ever owned and driven (IF YOU DRIVE THIS CAR YOU WILL BUY IT), it has excellent powerand road manners, rides beautifully and is very reliable.
The car has also been completely restored cosmetically, the bodywork and paint are beautiful; the original Endura nose was stripped and smoothed using the proper materials to ensure against any future cracking or warping while retaining its original intended flexibility. The interior is 100% brand new as well with new carpet, headliner, front and rear door panels, seat foam and upholstery front and rear, all chrome pieces, handles, knobs, etc. and the original dash was sent out and restored by Just Dashes and looks better than new.
Ihave the PHS documentation to go with the car as well as the original owners manual. You will not find another car that has been optioned the way this one has. Thiscar is absolutely a dream to drive and wherever I go people want to take pictures ofit.In the State of GA Pre-1985 cars do not require a title to sell; so, I am selling this car with my registration papers and a bill of sale only.Overall this car is stunning, between the looks, the driving experience and the rarity, you cannot go wrong with this purchase.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my auction and have a great day.
