Pontiac Other 1970 Description
1970 Pontiac Ventura. 59,612 original miles(as of this listing-I am going to drive it today). Special order car out of Major Motors in Ephrata,Washington. Build date-8/69. I am the second owner. VIN number indicates that this was the 39th 1970 Pontiac built.Car is in super good condition. Original everything. Paint, interior and top. Has very few flaws which are it is missing the fender molding for the passenger side fender and has a few dings because the original owners wife swiped the garage many years ago. Passenger door molding is in the trunk.
Car runs and drives super. Turn key. Everything works.
This car is equipped with the 360 horsepower 455 mated to a 3 speed automatic and has the rally gauge package instead of the dash warning lights. Engine block code is YH for those wondering.
The hubcaps were also special order and not used on base cars.
Car has absolutely no rust anywhere.
On a scale of 1 to 10-this car is around an 8 or so. It is going to need very little to be perfect. If you are looking at it and think parts will be hard to find-they won't be. French Lake Auto Parts in Minnesota has everything for this to make it perfect for less than 200 dollars. It is not perfect, but it is a super nice survivor and very rare. This is NOT a Catalina-it is a Ventura. You had to order the Ventura package in 1970 as it was not it's own model that year.
Owners manual, receipts and dealer brochure included. Drive it across the country right now. Part of my personal collection. Clean title and in my name.On Nov-10-16 at 13:24:21 PST, seller added the following information:
The interior I forgot to mention has 2 very small rips in the brocade on the drivers section. Very small though and might be repairable. If not,you can order a yard of original material from SMS auto fabrics in Camby,Oregon for around 70 bucks. Perfect match.
To those who bid on this car last week, for some reason I couldn't lower the reserve,I wanted to but I couldn't. Not sure why exactly. Anyhow, the car runs great and will need very little to make perfect. If you just want a clean cruiser to roll around in,this will be perfect for you. This is a "turn key" car with a clean title in my name.
