Pontiac Streamliner 1941 Description
I'm selling my Pontiac due to health reasons that are preventing me from finishing this project. It's a 1941 Pontiac Streamliner 2 door fastback in looks only. The frame has been cleaned and painted with POR15, has a 9" Ford rearend with about 3:55 gears, 1974 Chevy Nova front subframe that's been rebuilt, and a 1977 Cadillac 425 engine with low miles. The transmission is a TH400, but the one in the car is burned up. I have another used TH400 out of another Cadillac that is good, just hasn't been installed. The brakes have all been rebuilt with new cylinders, shoes, hardware and brake lines. It has drum brakes all around. The frontend has new ball joints, bushings, shocks, tie rods, etc. The rear springs have new bushings. New shocks all around; single exhaust. The engine runs great, but the motor mounts are temps, they should be replaced with something permanent.
The body is in very good condition with minor rust on the rockers, drivers side floors, and rear fender mountings. No major dents in the body, hood or front fenders. The front fenders are in VERY good condition with no rust through. The rear fenders are NOS for this car. The bumpers are excellent and have been rechromed. Most of the exterior chrome has been re-done to street standards, not show. The grille, bumper guards, hood stripe (though it has a hole in it towards the windshield), hood ornament, and some interior pieces have been rechromed. The Ford dash in the pictures is not included, but you will get the original dash and pieces that go with it. The center grille piece is NOS, as is the rear bumper pan. The interior consists of the seat frames and door panels for patterns. All the glass is present, but will need new glass made from the patterns, except the rear window, which is still in the car.
The pictures of the complete car were taken when I bought it.
There are many extra parts that will go with the car that have been bought/aquired over the years. I bought the car in 2000, but haven't worked on it in over ten years. I won't be able to finish it. I have a clear Illinois title. $500 non-refundable payment to Paypal, and the remainder when you pick up the car. If you need more information or more pictures of anything specific, please contact me. If I have forgotten anything, I will add it to the auction. Thanks for looking.
One more thing to add is that there isn't a steering wheel/column...it went away with the front end.On Jun-21-16 at 04:44:06 PDT, seller added the following information:
Fender skirts were sold a long time ago. Bumper wings on the front bumper were also sold long ago.
