Pontiac Trans Am 1978 Description
Up for sale is a 1978 Pontiac transam #S matchingwith a .60 over 400 Pontiac motor with a th400 transmission. This was a father son project several years ago . We replaced almost everything that was worn out or was just junk .Things such as new factory seat cover, carpet, trunk carpe, door seals window felts inside and out, tinted windows, tires, winshield, black paint NPD decal kit, custom 3 inch exhaust duals with flowmaster mufflers and I am sure there is more that I am forgetting. Everything new under the hood is Pontiac 400 bored 60 ove, balanced rotating assembly TRW forged flattop pistons, 5140 rods, heads had a valvejob with aftermarket valve springs installed, the heads were shaved .5, aftermarket cam installed I think it was around a 500 lift without the 1.65 stamped rocker arms installed, rebuilt 750 cfm edelbrock car, aftermarket aluminum radiator, fan blade, a/c compressor, new gear reduction starter insulated wires by the starter starter blanket, New tires, k&N air filter, The car was originaly white on white with bluebird decals we decided to go with black on the exterior, gold honeycomb wheels with new center caps and decals, In the trunk there is a spot were I put fiberglass matting down to cover it up it works good, The drivers floor pan has a small hole under a replacement floor pan I just silicone and screwed it i, so the pan is there you would just have to cut the floor out and weld it in if you didn't like the way I have it. It works good though, The seat covers are covering up the original seat covers and and cusion, but still functions and works good, all the lights and accessories wor, About 7 or 8 years ago we put all this stuff in this car and about 1000 miles into itwe decided to put a bigger cam in it to make it sound chopp, I had a guy put another cam in it because I didn't have time to do i, well he didn't know what he was doing and just tightened down the adjustable polylocks not bothering to set them, so it screwed up the cam on breaki, I we were pretty upset with all tha, so we finally pulled the car out and put another cam in about 6 years lateralong with a msd 6a box and high torque starter, The motor runs good and trans shifts like it should, The passenger side calipersticks slightly sometimes and about every 5 starts 1 lifter sticks for a second I guess that's what I get for buy a summit brand cheap camshaft and lifters . The A/C worked good before I pulled it out to replace the cam, you will have to put the condenser back in, We are just tired of messing with it, I believe all the rest of the car is original . It is not a BarretJackson ca, Its not perfec, so if you looking for a $25.000 car for a starting bid of $6.500 car this is NOT the car for you. Its a good car to cruise around do a full resto on if that's what you like The only things it needs is the front calipers greased and if you like put a set of good brand lifters in it because of that 1 sometimes sticky lifter. This car will sell NO RESERVE.... IT WILL GO .... I reserve the write to end auction at any time because it will be for sale locally..GOOD LUCK HAPPY BIDDING PS the motor has about 1000 miles on it..
