Pontiac Trans Am 1977 Description
Hello, am selling my 1977 special edition Trans AM with 43,616 original miles. Black and gold smokey and the bandit model, am the second owner and have had for about 5 years. This a project car that I was planning on having redone but have not got around to it. I have it stored in a family members garage and they would like the garage back to keep a new car in. This car has never had any body work done to it and is solid, nderneath is also solid no rust. All hard ware is with it ashtrays, oldings that go around windows, door panels etc. There is not an exhaust on it and it needs breaks. And last year my cousin came up and said there was a crack in the fan shroud cover so he removed it and theradiator. Idon'tthink he new how to remove it because it is still out of the car and he cut the shroud to remove. Car started right up and sounded great. This would be a great car for some one who restores cars. The only rust is some spots on hood and a tiny bit under doors no holes just a slight surface that is a thin line on bottom of doors. Pictures are not good because it is in the garage and idon'twant to remove from garage without radiator. It has theHursthatcht topsandHursthatch t top bag. Seats were taken out of the car to install new carpet but were not put back in. Seats are nice original and no holes or rips. Actuallyeverythingis original, atching numbers and automatic,I amprobablyforgettinga lot please email anyquestions, hanks. On Jul-19-15 at 10:39:13 PDT, eller added the following information:I have been getting a lot of questions and still have more to get to. I tried all morning to add more pictures but had no luck i spent all morning making a you tube video (My First Video). The pictures look blurry but if anyone want a regular video that is more clear i can email it. ebay only allows you tube for this feature and i made a clear one on windows movie maker (same pictures just clearer). I said before that there was no rust underneath but there is, he body is all solid but you can see bottom of the car has a good bit of rust underneath from video. I think the video look worse than it is but i would rather have it look worse on video than in person. I also will be ordering a PHS by fax on Monday I did not know of them before or i would have ordered before. I will post the PHS when it comes back by fax. Here is also alittleback round on the car and how I came to have it. I work at a financial institution, ne day back in 2008 some men were cleaning out a house that went into foreclosure. The car was abandoned in the garage or barn (i cantremember)and they wanted to see about getting title and we were the lien holder, he loan was written off about 15 years earlier and the car could not be located at the time it wasstoredaway. When the men had an interest in the car it was put up for public auction. I was the high bidder and paid $8000.00 plus storage and towing fees. After I got it home i was offered $15,000 but did not sell ( iprobablyshould have). The man who original owner was very nice and told me in detail about the car. I talked to him several times before and after buying. He was the original owner, ought it while in orgetting out of the military and that it was the special edition and that when he got it he had to be on a waiting list to get it and he got every option that wasavailable. All matching number and that he was glad it was going to some one who would take care of it. When I was in college in the 1990's i had a 1978 Camaro with t tops and really wanted to have this restored to new (maybe i wanted to relive my youth). I have always love classic cars and other people said they would help me restore never came through and i am a girl and can only do so much. And now that my family member wants there garage back it has to go. I hope whoever buys it has it looking new and enjoying the car shows again. If anyone wants to retract there bid due to the rust i totally understand. Also i wanted to ad that I know the shaker is sitting wrong i just put it the for thepictureand hood closes fine i just did not close it the whole way.Carburetorwas professionallyrebuiltand if some pictures look weird I had the air conditioner on in the garage and opened the garage door and it made a fog on the windows and some of the body pictures have that sweaty haze from air and heat. Thanks, elow the bottom of page is the link for video
Also i keep forgetting to post question for others to see. Here are some below thanks
Dear revtutu,
Paperwork like build sheet, indow sticker, order forum,or PHS History something that tells me its a real Y82. What state did you buy it from...
Dear trophybluew31,
I don't have that stuff, bought it in PA in 2008 and was titled in Pa in 2001 but was from a different state before this and was purchased in that same state. The original owner bought it when he was in the military then came back to pa and had the title changed to Pa, can get you that state on Monday, have the paper work in my safe deposit box and I can go to the bank Monday and check.
Dear revtutu,
Do you have Shaker air filter? I see nose cone and trunk don't have the lettering decals? were they replace or repainted? Can you send me better photos? all around and underside of car? do you have any original paperwork from the first owner? Thank you
Dear bascccox,
Yes, here is a shaker and air cleaner. I have a big box of parts and accessories and will take more pictures tomorrow afternoon. I am going to take pictures of the bottom all around also. I have had so many questions and forgot to post some of them it kinda hard to keep up. Thanks so much for looking.
Dear revtutu,
would you take a buy it now of 11k ...thanks
