Pontiac GTO 1966 Description

Barn Find upstate NY !!! Diamond in the rough!!! 1966 Real Pontiac GTO 242 car not a clone. No registration or door tag & body cowl tag is missing. Car was found in a barn was a 4 speed car was turned into a drag car later in it's life car has not been hacked with a roll cage or tubbed thank goodness. Front end does does not appear to be original GTO but might be grilles are different style? Rear light panel is original GTO for sure.Car has some rust small holes in trunk pan see pics and very minor stuff in floor pans over shock tower under stereo speaker there are rust holes do to bad rubber seals in trunk. Body has bondo and rear wheel wells have been flared body overall is all there and a great candidate for a restoration. Car has a sunroof & brand new windshield. Interior is rough dash is there look to be correct bucket seats and back bench both need recovering. Car has a motor did some research seems to be a pontiac 400 era 1966/1967 not sure on anything else have never heard it run may be a newly rebuilt not sure has Automatic turbo 400/350 BOP transmission has a 10 bolt rear do not know what gears or if it is posi might be. Frame looks to be in good shape never put it on a lift on the driver side there is a spot that may have been welded not sure. This car is not a driver and will have to be towed by flat bed.
