Pontiac Firebird 1981 Description

I'm selling my 1981 Pontiac Trans Am. don't have time or financial means to redo it the way i'd like to. It's a fun weekend driver with a TON of potential to be a sweet show car. It is an original 5. 0/4 speed car that currently has a 1979 350/5. 7 Chevrolet V8 and a real Muncie 4 speed replacing the BW Super T-10. It has a 3:42 geared Saf-T-Track (limited slip) differential with 4 wheel disc brakes. The trim tag decodes the car as originally black with black cloth interior. it is currently a medium blue with black vinyl interior. Removable T-Tops make summer cruising a blast! Subframe connectors installed eliminate the bendy feeling usually associated with the T-Top models. This would be a great car to enjoy and/or personalize to your taste. The 4 speed makes it a blast to drive. drop in a crate motor and rule the road! The paint is presentable. but I think the car would look much better in its original sinister black hue. The car starts right up and runs good. the transmission shifts flawlessly. and the differential is tight and quiet. The motor has an Edelbrock Torker II intake and a Holley 600 cfm electric choke carb on it. Aftermarket oil pressure gauge indicates low pressure after car is warmed up. so I would not recommend driving any far distance until problem can be looked at. I'm not sure. but maybe the oil pump is going bad. I haven't had time to pull the pan down to check. This is a nice car with lots of fun factor and as stated before. a ton of potential. Enjoy the looks and handling of the earlier models without the bank breaking entry fees of them.
