Pontiac GTO 1967 Description

Let me start by saying I'm an Auto Mechanic by trade, have owned my business for 34 years. I recently bought this car from a customer of mine, I've cared for this car for the last 26 years. The previous owner has only driven the car about 3k in those years. The car was restored about 27 years ago and this cars condition is a testament to the quality of the work performed all those years ago. If you are looking for a 99 point trailer queen then this is not for you. If you are looking for a very original GTO that was restored before it became common to replace everything with Chinese parts then this car might be for you.The body and undercarriage are laser straight. The lacquer paint does have minor age flaws and being driven flaws. But they are minor and the new owner can address them if they so choose. I clay barred the paint, light polishing compound and a good wax. I had custom touch up paint mixed and I intend to touch up some of the nics etc. Chrome and stainless is all very nice, the rear bumper does have a 1 inch scratch. The underside is very presentable as is but would benefit from more cleaning.I just finished some detailing to the engine, new valve covers, fresh paint, restored the quadrajet carburetor, carburetor is a 68 GTO model, new reproduction hoses, new fan belts, new fuel pump and supply hoses, fresh points and plugs. Engine starts right up, smooth running, no odd noises, no smoke. I don't believe it is the original 400, but I believe it is an era correct 400. Does have a small oil leak. Trans goes through the gears fine, uses a Hurst shifter. No issues with the rear differential. Had to rebuild the rear brakes, this car originally was 4 wheel drum, when it was restored they added same era front disc. The metering valve to rear drums was malfunctioning so a modern valve was purchased, the metal lines and hydraulic hose was replaced, new rear shoes and wheel cylinders too.Interior is very nice, I believe the seat covers, dash, headliner, door panels, crank handles etc are all original. AM radio does not function. Trunk area is not pictured but it is also very clean. This car is 99 percent rust free and has been for last 26 years.I just installed 4 new BFG Silverton red lines on the PMD wheels, also has 4 new shocks.Car runs cool, heat works fine, for a 50 year old car she is in pretty exceptional condition. As with any older car you can always expect tinkering and maintenance. You can contact me with any questions. 732 599 8774 Dan.
