Pontiac Firebird 1979 Description

1979 FIREBIRD ESPRIT RED BIRD EDITION in Very Very Good Survivor Condition . A Great Driver Condition Car .I Bought this Car from the Original Owner that Loved this Car for the last 38 Years .He lived in the far Eastern part of the Province of Quebec and was Barely Driving the Car over the last 10 years and decided to let it go due to his age .He bought the Car New in December 29 1978 . It was One of only 10 1979 Firebird Red Birds Sold in the Province of Quebec .
Only 177 of these 1979 Firebird Red Bird Edition Cars came into Canada for sale throughout all of Canad, making these Cars Extremely Rare here in Canada as most did Not Survive our Salted Winter Roads being Driven and rusted away .
It has a Professionally andCompletely Rebuilt .03, 350 Pontiac Engine with an RV Camshaft and Valve-Springsto Matc, All New Pistons and Ring, All New Bearings and Seal, Gasket, Oil Pum, Timing chai, ec, ect and only has 11000 km's or 7000 Miles on the Rebuilt Engin, and the owner put on some Headers and a Nice 2 1/2 inch Stainless Steel Dual Exhaust System . A Great Motor that will last a lifetime .The Motor and Car Sound, Looks and Runs Great .
This Car is a Great Highway Machine that easily bury's the Speedo in a Heartbeat with the Freshly Built Pontiac Motorand just keeps Pulling and Going and Going and Going .The Odometer shows 74000 Original km's as this was made for export to Canada from the USA . That's 46000 miles .The Speedo show's Km's on the outside in Big Numbers with Miles on the inside in smaller Numbers as this was built to export to Canada . The Odometer Reads in Km's for the CanadianMarket .A USA Firebird Red Bird Speedo would be the Opposite with Miles on the Outside in Big Numbers and have the Km's on the Inside in Smaller Numbers and the Odometer would Read in Miles .Either wa, i'ts is still a Very Rare Special Edition Car .
He also added a Security Power cut off Switch under the dash as well as an AuxiliaryElectric Pusher Fan and Black Aluminum Rear Window Louvers that give the Car an Extra Appeal .
This Car Runs Very Nice and Cool all day long with Out using the AuxiliaryElectric Pusher Fan . It runs at 180 - 190 Degrees without the AuxiliaryFan when Hot . With the AuxiliaryFan o, it runs at 160 Degrees all day long .
This Car is 99% Rust Free as it was Extensively Oil-sprayed Yearly before being put away each and Every Winter as the regionof the Province of Quebec that this owner lived in had Very Long and Hard Winters and a Very Short and Quick Summers for Driving his Summer-Time Pride and Joy .This Car was Never Winter Driven and always Very Well Maintained and Mature Owned .
I have all the Factory Original Documents and the Original Bill of Sale from December 29 1978 from the Original Owner that kept and Loved this Car for the last 38 Years .
The Car Runs Great and most Everything Works as it should . The clock does stop from time to time and needs to be tapped to get it to started again . A little fine oiling would fix this clock to run continually . Some days the clock runs all day long . Also only one rear speakers is working and the other is blown out.
It features the Full Red Bird Gauge and AppearancePackage with an 8 Thousand RPM Tach that has a Gold Anodized Metal turned Dash Bezel that has sincefaded out and has the Gold Anodized Spokes on the Red Bird Steering Wheel that still maintains all it's Gold Anodized coloring . It has a Nice Gold Bird Emblem on the Horn Button and a Nice Gold Bird Emblem on the Metal turned Dash Bezel . These Gold Bird Emblems were exclusive to the Red Birds . Phoenix Graphics sells a Gold film Kit to Renew the Gold Tint to the Bash Bezel Surround if so desired.
This Car has Good Working P, P, Til, Heate, R-Defogge, Light, Hor, Wipers AM/FM Stereo with Cassette and P-Trunk and all the RED BIRD Options .All the Gauges Work Great as do all the Exterior and Interior Light, Hor, Heate, Rear Defogge, Wiper, P-Trun, Brake, ec, ect . Only the issues listed above in this ad are not working fully . The Clock works when it wants and a rear speaker needs replacing . All else Works as it Should .
The Chassis and Body is all Factory Original Metal with No Patch-Work or Bondo .The Car was Repainted 20 years ago due to the Paint Fading out and never had any Rust Issuesor Repairs done .This is a Very Solid and Rare Car .
The Headliner was redone in a Beautiful Plush Button Tuff as the Original Headliner was starting to let loos, so he had it done to his liking .See Pics .This Car is a Very Rare and Very Well and Cared for Canadian 1979 Firebird Red Bird .Not many Survived in Canada nor did many Survive in the USA .When is the last time you saw a 1979 Firebird Red Bird in your Town or City ?
