Pontiac GTO 1968 Description
Fremont, alifornia built, code 1968 GTO 400ci WT motor numbers matching. Muncie 4-Speed M20 Wide-Ratio w/ tag # 9798972, ode P9P18, ase # 3925660, hat is NOT numbers matching, nd is from a 69 Judge car. Hurst Shifter #49043M correct round factory Pontiac Hurst. Rear Differential ZH, :55 safe-T-track is original matching. Factory Flamebeau Burgundy # N1 Ivory Top,#24 Parchment Interior. I got this car from an estate sale as to where Drivetrain was completely overhauled Prior to purchase, nd motor, rans, ust setting in the car, othing hooked up or not yet running, decided to pull the motor back out since car had been setting on blocks over 20 years. I was told there was over 10 grand spent on the drivetrain on the start of the restoreation, ith motor rebuilt to stock specifications in the mid 90s. While out, he motor checked out good compression, all vital signs. Iinstalled a better stock upgrade clutch, ouble roller comp cams timing chain, tainless oil dipstick w/ both upper & lower tubes. Melling High volume oil pump & rod. NOS Timing cover #9790347. and sent the Original #s, ochester Q-Jet carburator to a company in New Jersey. Carb was done right with new shafts, ase aline bushings, eplated, actory ram air specs, tc, correct ) and more. Car has been in Southwest its whole life and is not rusted out. Floor boards front and rear, runk, ockers, oors and panels all good condition, nd do not need replacement. NO heavy pitting on frame either, nly thing pitted is the rear end cover. Car was cosmoline undercoated years ago and was save, but it is hard to clean off. All the original fuel lines brake lines still on it.Only one spot on a return fuel line had been repaired. Delco Moraine wheel cylinders still on it,. Nice western car that bolts always remove easily. My intentions were to do a complete concours restoration on car after build. I have driven car just over 1500 miles in the last year. No oil leaks and probably runs better than driving it off a 1968 Pontiac show room. Have taken car on long 2 & 300 mile trips, nd car does not get hot, t all I . Brakes all restored. New or replaced :springs, heel bearing timken, hocks, ypes stainless exhaust .alternator 100 am, fuel pump, nbsp;master cylinder, elts, ose, clamps and much more. Car had a repaint in the 80 s and still has magic mirror lacquer paint on it. Paint is all checked &,cracked, s seen in pictures. Hood, eck, anels, oors, ockers all in good condition with factory code numbers on all. I have the PHS on the car that i will have to list later. Car came with many good options, ith a sought after color combination. If serious about car,, uestions Please Email, hankyou
