Pontiac Firebird 1979 Description

Up for bid is my 1979 Firebird. 8 years ago it was a daily driver that I enjoyed taking to shows at TAN (Trans Am Nationals.) It is very fast so only bmw's and corvettes have been able to pass on the freeway with the pedal down. At 80 mph it averages 30 mpg because the motor little more than idles with the interstate rear end in it from the factory. It has sit for the past few years so the weather has been hard on her. The longer it sits without a garage in this Ohio weather, he worse it looks. A lot of body work, ew paint and rubber will be needed. The blue book value of this Firebird in rust bucket condition is $3,500 to $4,500. The auction starts at exactly half that so it's a very good dealconsidering it drives very well. It's4500 lbs of classic American muscle. It is a Firebird Esprit with the T/A fenders and rims. The motor is a 350 Olds out of a 1978 Delta 88. It runs really good with about 70k miles total. The exhaust is only a few years old. The starter has oil in it from a leak in the oil pan so it is hard to start when it is still warm. There are working oil pressure and water temp gauges in the old air conditioner vent holes. The window tint needs redone. 2 driver's side tires (225 70 14) are dry and need replaced. Needs a newside post battery (smaller than 9 1/2" wide X 7 1/2 inches deep.)Custom aluminum grilles in the frontbumper so birds and debris can't break through to the radiator. Has CD player with remote, igh end speakers and 2 amplifiers. Sorry, he amps for the radio are temporarily unhooked due to the battery issue. There are 2 key chain remotes that go to an alarm that was unhooked but included also because of the battery issue. I also include 2 new air brush kits, tencils for the hood and sides & a Tupperware tote full of goodies to assist with bodywork, ew paint job, tc. Additional details:The exterior paint is royal blue, ver baby blue, ver the factory blue-green color changelacquerpaint.
The interior has the original baby blue dash with no major cracks or blemishes. The console is baby blue with a crack at the hinge going down the side a couple inches. The seats are all covered in electric blue slip covers. The rest of the interior has been wrapped in a cotton electric blue plush penee material that has held up well. The carpet is still the original baby blue with plenty of stains and rips. The floor boards are all solid. The steering wheel is a Grant made from Mahoganywood I do believe.
