Up for sale we have a 1970 Plymouth RoadRunner. Off the showroom the '70 Road Runner had a new front end and rear end moving on from the basic styling of '68 and '69. The one we have for you has undergone a complete rotisserie restoration that's guaranteed to have your attention top to bottom. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and driveline of the Plymouth, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us for more information, pictures, or any questions call our office at (865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website.
We will start off with the exterior of the RoadRunner. It all starts with the laser straight body that features great panel fit and symmetrical gaps all around. The body is covered in the Vitamin C Paint scheme that's accented by the RoadRunner Dust Trail Stripes and Hood with the Black Inlay. Looking closely at the paint you can see it has been buffed and polished to a mirror finish that's just as slick down low as it is up high. The front grill is in excellent condition along with the rest of the stainless. Both the front and rear bumpers appear to have been replaced, and all the other chrome is either new or in like new condition. To finish off the look it's sitting on a set of 15" Chrome Magnum Wheels with Cooper White Letter Tires.
Next, we move to the interior of the '70. When you open the doors, you'll notice the weather stripping has been replaced. Everything on the inside appears to be either new or in like new condition. The seats have had new padding installed and new Black Vinyl seat covers with silver trim were put on. Also, the door panels appear to be new and are done in the matching black with silver trim. This is a factory Four Speed car and it has the correct style Pistol Grip Shifter and boot. Looking at the dash it has the 150 Speedo, and an Auto Meter Tach was added along with sport comp oil and temp gauges. Even the Solid State Chrysler AM radio is there and working. The headliner is new with an excellent fit and the dome light is working.
Finally, we will get to the driveline of the Plymouth. Under the hood it's powered by a '70 model 383 that's mated to the 833 Four Speed Trans and the 8 " Sure Grip Rear End. The 383 is set up with an Edelbrock Aluminum Intake and a Holley Carb, and it's dressed with the Mopar black valve covers and a factory style breather. For exhaust, it has Dougs Headers with dual pipes and Dynomax Mufflers. For brakes it has front Disc, rear drums, and new brake lines have been installed. Also, under the front new bushings, tie rod ends, and ball joints were installed. When you put this car in on a lift you will see the quality of the resto with the floors and frame being painted body color. Also, you'll see the gas tank was replaced and new lines have been installed.
