Please click on the link above to see more photos of the roadrunner. Pictures of all of the numbers matching stampings on the motor, heads, radiator, trans, inner trunk lip, and many more are on there. This car has less than 39K original miles on it. I purchased this car from the estate of the original owner 10 years ago. He bought it new, drove it for 2 years or so when he was young and then turned it into a drag car. It was not tubbed or mini tubbed. The suspension was not altered. They put longer shackles on to lower the axle in order to get the big racing slicks on it. He saved the original shackles and we put them back on the car. I am putting the original tires (from new) and rallye rims back on the car. All four tires have plenty of tread, in fact the rears still have the "nubs" on them. All 4 tires are from when the car was new, goodyear polyglass GT. All original flawless glass. Original fender tag and all original vin numbers are still on the car. Headliner, interior, dash, are all original and in perfect condition. All body panels are original, no dings or dents. Tick tock dash, bench seats, pistol grip shifter. 383 hp, freshly rebuilt professionally, bored .40 over, with all new machine work and all new internals. The engine has not been ran since the rebuild. The original posi rear end is rebuilt with all new stock gearing as the gearing that was in the car was for drag racing. This car is rock solid. Original air grabber hood, plus a fiberglass two snorkel hood ( I believe from a 69 with pins) that he used for racing is included. I have the original build sheet as pictured. The car is registered with Galen Govier. . The doors and trunk open and close as new, no sag, no binding. The original owner put in a roll cage that I had removed and had the floor patched due to the frame ties for racing not due to rust. Those patches have been done in a manner that no one would know that they were patched at all.The original black carpeting is perfect except for the holes for the roll cage The original air grabber hood has turn signal indicators which I believe is a rare option. This is a complete car, all original numbers matching with exception to the intake and exhaust manifolds and carb. . Originally Rallye Red paint. The paint is bright just dusty from sitting. When the owner passed away his family stored the car in a non temperature controlled steel warehouse with a plastic tarp over the car. This caused some crazing and paint flaking. in areas of the paint. My intent is to put a stock dual exhaust system on the car using the original from new mufflers (see pictures to see that they are almost in as new condition) and the original chrome muffler tips. I do not believe you will find a more solid, original, complete 1970 roadrunner anywhere. The original beep beep horn still works. The only reason Im selling is that the wife and I picked up a 1958 Nomad over the summer that we want to focus on.
I'll be adding more pictures to the link every couple of days so that interested buyers can see the progress of the car being put back together. I can be reached at 815-900-8252 if you have any questions. The car has been stored indoors since new. Thanks, Joe
