Plymouth Other 1957 Description
Here's a '57 Plymouth Sedan. A combination of well restored and well preserved original.Bought new in November of 1956 by Permilia Vanhoose of Salinas California.
This is a very early production car, the 148th off the line of the Los Angeles plant.
Never any rust anywhere.
Has has a very careful restoration.
The body was disassembled for paint, front fenders, hood, rear doors, deck lid, all glass except the windshield.
The under side of the fenders, insides of doors, inside of trunk lid, and inside the lower quarter panel and rear wheel openings have been treated to por 15.
Painted in single stage urethane. Color sanded and polished.
Bumpers rechromed.
All stainless trim has been polished. even the door sill plates.
NOS rear glass weatherstrip
The seats have been done with a combination of the original heat embossed vinyl and NOS cloth from SMS.
NOS beautiful stars at night headliner and visors from SMS
Door panels are very nice original.
All new window sweepers and channels.
New windlace.
Has original rubber floor mat. minor cracking.
NOS and very cool Yellow floor mat. I just removed it from the original box (included) for the photos. It should lay flat after some time.
Nice original trunk mat.
I believe the jack is original.
Only 60, 347 miles.
Have the front license plate (needs restored) and brackets.

front disc brake conversion. It was that way when I bought it. Have the original drums if you like.
new inner and outer rear axle seals
new upper and lower ball joints.
new upper control arm bushings.

ft end alignment.
rear shocks
new Goodyear Super cushions. 800 14.
new water pump and fuel pump.
new battery.
new muffler and tailpipe.
new rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders.
radiator rodded out.
radio serviced. new speaker.
heater control valve rebuilt.
engine de sludged by removing the intake, valve covers and oil pan, cleaned and re sealed.
I had the transmission resealed but it still has a drip tords the rear.
A few minor issues.
Carburetor has a slight flat spot on acceleration until the engine is warmed up then it's fine.
Engine has minor blow by.
Slight vibration at freeway speeds.
Everything works as it should, wipers, heat/ defrost, radio, fuel and temp gauges. all lights.
I went way overboard doing this car. A Savoy 4 dr. sedan? yeah I know. BUT........ You will have the only one at the show. It draws crowds.
A very low reserve for a car of this quality.
