Plymouth P4 1937 Description
This is a clean survivor. It's 79 years old so expect some paint issues such as cracks and chips, revious owner tried touch up paint on the fenders and it's off a bit in color but not bad. Exterior is a 10 for surviving 79 year old paint. A person looking at a modern new car would rate it a 5-6 in my opinion, aybe 7. Interior is a 8-9 for the age, ut again a person looking at modern cars would probably say 4-5. Those who know what they are looking at here know what a surviving 79 year old car looks like, nd I would bet they would say this is above average for the age. This car is a 100% running, riving and stopping car! I've taken it out on multi hour trips through town without any issues. I have done many updates to the car, ut most were using NOS parts when available. It has a complete new front brake system and wheel bearings, ew water pump, ew thermostat, ew water distribution tube, ll new hoses, ew fuel lines, ew fan belt, ew distributor and points, ew spark plugs with wires (not the old non standard yellow ones in the pictures), ew stainless steel exhaust, ew Coker White Walls, nd other items. I've replaced most of the rubber seals through the firewall, long with all pedals and shifter boot (again not the white one in the pictures but the correct model black one), nd replaced the trunk seal. Speaking of trunk seal, he trunk seal lip had the ONLY rust on the car and it was so small that it left most of the lip intact. I stripped the rusty area and sealed it with rust stop before putting in the new rubber seal. The area was probably about 18" long altogether.
The non working items are as follows to the best of my knowledge. The speedometer, he water heater (needs new wiring, he hot water flows just fine through it), assenger side rear wing window lock and occasionally the horn, es it occasionally works.
The only body damage is a small dent in roof, pproximately 10" long and 5" wide, ess than 1/16-1/8" deep. It's not easily noticeable, ust look at the pictures, t would be visible in the first picture as it is above the front passenger door near the center of the car.
This is an amazing car and I wanted to restore it back to its original luster, owever I couldn't do it, y conscience got the best of me and I just couldn't mess with an original survivor in this good of shape. It's only original once, eriod! I even have thousands of dollars of parts that will go with the car, ost are NOS but some are modern replicas and replacements.
NOTE! The car resides in Colorado, ut I currently live in Chicago(the biggest selling factor) so buyer and I will have to set up time after auction to make final purchase. Sale will be final, xcept in conditions that I have not described vehicle correctly and to the best of my knowledge. This doesn't mean paint chips or age related issues are acceptable reasons to back out, TS A 79 YEAR OLD CAR!
Deposit of $500 due immediately by PayPal and remainder due in cash or money order upon vehicle pickup, O EXCEPTIONS! Clean clear title will be signed over at that time along with bill of sale.
FYI: pictures here are of car when I purchased it, t is still the same but with better white walls and a few other items listed above. Addition: I installed a single seatbelt in center of rear bench, had to for a child seat. Had carb professionally rebuilt by local shop. Wipers do not work, he air hose is not hooked up so really I'm guessing that they don't work, owever there are NOS wipers and motors included in all the parts in case they really don't work. I had a few questions that people asked but the eBay system wouldn't let me reply, o here are the answers. The list of spare parts is quite large. Spare bulbs, iper motors, iper blades, ead light bucket, eadlight mount, enerators of which the previous owner said one was rebuilt, lutch pressure plate, riving disc, ransmission rebuild kit, ngine gaskets and seals, unning board rubber, arious rubber seals and bumpers, nd many more. The tires are new Coker Wide White Walls. There is an awesome original spare tire, ut as expected it is hard and a little cracked, ut for an original it's quite the cool addition. There is an antenna on the car that is not attached to anything, t used to connect to a single small speaker on the rear seat that I was told used to be for a war time emergency radio so that's what I'm sticking with. eBay is giving me trouble responding saying everything is undeliverable so I can't respond to questions. My only idea to combat this is to respond here in the description. If you ask and I don't respond please look back on here.
