Plymouth Barracuda 1972 Description

This is a great running and driving Cuda. It handles great even at 70 mph plus on the highway. The owner passed away and I purchased the car from a friend of his family in 2013. The car was in Kansas City Missouri. I believe that the car was in that area since new, he owner was a mechanic and built the non-matching numbers 1970 340 high output engine. There is around 5,000 miles on the rebuild. I wish I knew what was done to it,but it is definitely not stock. It will set you back in your seat when you punch it, ven at 60 mph plus. The transmission shifts great. The fluid looks like new but I don't know if it was also rebuilt. It as an 8 3/4 posi differential, power steering and power disc front brakes. It has a factory rear sway bar.Mechanically the header gaskets are leaking and it needs new rear shocks. It is factory AC but the under hood componets are not there. All the gauges, horn, blower motor speeds,HVAC control buttons & temp slide, and 3 speed wipers work. All lights and signals(except fender mount signals) work. The drivers window needs a little help going down, but it rolls up good and the other three windows go up and down good. The door& trunk locks match and lock & unlock good with key. The factory tinted glass is all good. No chips or cracks. The left quarter is dented above the wheel and both quarters have the wheel well lip rolled so the tires don't rub. A restoration was done about 12 to 15 years ago. The left rear quarter panel was replaced than and probably should be replaced again because of the dent & fit. The white vinyl top was removed. There is not any rust on the roof or rear window corners. The prep was not very good where the vinyl as removed and the paint shows the imperfections. The rest of the paint looks pretty good but could be better if power buffed. I only hand waxed it. The "heal" section of the drivers and passengers front floors were rusted. These sections were cut out and repaired with sheet metal. The rest of the floor and trunk look okay. The build sheet shows that it was factory undercoated. The interior was all redone. The dash pads looks like new. It does not have any cracks. The headliner, package tray, sail panels, pillar trim, kick panels, carpet and seats are all in excellant condition. The door panels, interior qtr trim and front seat back panels were covered in cloth material. Looks like a purchased kt and looks okay.
