Plymouth Barracuda 1971 Description

The 1971 Plymouth 'Cuda may very well sit at the top of the muscle car food chain and this stunning 'Cuda hardtop delivers in every way that matters: loads of power from a fresh V8 a manual gearbox gorgeous paint and a restored interior. Quite honestly they just don't come much nicer than this. This is one of those cars that really needs a personal visit before you truly understand how nice it is and if you're buying sight-unseen please rest assured that this one is even better than it appears in photos. Gorgeous B5 Blue is this car's original color and an extra dash of metallic was added for a wicked modern twist. The sheetmetal is laser straight and you can see how good the panel alignment is in the photos with the doors seeming to disappear and the crease along the flanks looking sharp enough to have been painted on. No excessive graphics (although this car was originally an uber rare-optioned White Billboard car should you wish to add that contrast) but the vented hood looks cool and the Go-Wing out back should have been standard equipment because 'Cudas look naked without them. Hood pins fog lamps and proper 'Cuda badges were all reinstalled once the paint was dry and the chrome bumpers tie it off in grand fashion. This is just an awesome-looking car in every way.At first glance the interior looks stock but once you're behind the wheel you'll realize that those bucket seats are wrapped in black leather not vinyl and the factory Tuff Wheel got its own set of hides too. New carpets fresh door panels and a pistol-grip shifter all give the car a correct look although the blue glow from the gauges certainly transforms the car after dark. There are the usual auxiliary gauges under the dash just below the AM/FM stereo system which has big 6x9 speakers on the rear package tray. There's also A/C which uses the factory vents for a clean look and performance is impressive thanks to new hardware working behind the scenes. The trunk is quite clean and tidy with a reproduction mat and new weather-stripping so no worries back there. The engine is a snarling 360 cubic inch V8 and if you've been longing for a 'Cuda that can handle this one fits the bill. With a long list of modifications it'll run with the vaunted Hemi but once it's time to change directions the lightweight small block just destroys the heavy Hemi. The engine was built for combat and features Keith Black pistons a Lunati cam an Edelbrock Performer intake and a big Holley to feed the high-winding small block. It's all bathed in trick gold paint with black finned tinwork so it looks dramatic in the blue engine bay. It cackles and snarls thanks to ceramic-coated long-tube headers and X-pipe and stainless Magnaflow mufflers and while you're looking around under there check out the floors which are as beautifully finished as the bodywork. The 4-speed transmission was rebuilt and powers an 8.75-inch rear end with 3.23 gears on a Sure Grip limited slip and it sits on a freshly rebuilt suspension. Gorgeous 17-inch Rally wheels are a cool trick with a vintage look and modern 245/45/17 Dunlop radials. This is an extremely impressive car in every possible way and comes with receipts restoration photos and an original owner's manual. This is a no-compromises 'Cuda that's ready to show and enjoy. Call now!
