Plymouth Road Runner 1969 Description
In mid-1969 Plymouth introduced a new performance package. code A-12 adding a high performance 440 to their successful Road Runner muscle car. Plymouth called their new motor the 440-6 bbl. These A-12 Road Runners came with a special Edelbrock manifold topped by three Holley 2 barrel carburetors that sucked in over 1. 00 cfm of gas air mixture. This multi-carbed engine was rated at 390 hp. This package was far more than just a new motor. it was virtually a purpose built drag racer that included a flat black. lightweight fiberglass lift off hood with a big scoop driving air into the Holleys and 15 inch black steel wheels. Only 227 automatics were produced. This is one of them. Offered here is an Authentic M code 1969 1/2 A-12 Rod Runner. Decoded by Chrysler / Plymouth's master decoder Galen V. Govier (all paperwork follows the car). This fire breathing dragon runs strong with no hidden surprises. It is rust free and straight. The car is very clean inside and out and is ready to turn heads.
