Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight 1959 Description
Let me say this first:
I'm not answering any emails or phone request/messagesregardingthe selling ofparts. This is a RESTORATION VEHICLE. I am the third owner. The second owner started the restoration, nd I continued the process. AS MENTIONED IN THE DETAILED DESCRIPTION, he car needs significant cosmetic attention inside and out There are minor areas of rust, ings, and areas where body repair was began. Regarding the door locks: The driver's side works with the key. The passenger side sticks and I believe the cylinder/hardware needs to be replaced. The rear doors do not have key locks-they are manual and utilized after the front/door is opened first (unless you leave the knob in the up/open position)
The right rear damage was caused by an idiot tow truck driver-that allowed the car to roll backwards off the flat bed and without gauging the length-it collided with a tree. I have a replacement taillight assembly. It is basically roadworthy but for distance towing is recommended. The engine and transmission are ok, ut both should be rebuilt to bring it back to full power and reliability. I would also recommend replacing the front end kit, nd carburetor. I had it rebuilt twice but a new Edelbrock would serve this vehicle well. Even in its current condition, eople always ask about the car, nd trail behind it on both street and highway. It is currently registered in California, nd comes with vintage plates-yellow with black lettering. The plates have mini plates secured at the bottom for current year and sticker placement. Title is in my name. The vehicle comes with service records-some dating back to the seventies.
