Oldsmobile Toronado 1977 Description
I am the third owner of this 1977 Toronado, ith 66427 original miles. The original owner purchased this car in Rolla, O and owned it until 2014, he second owner purchased the car andhad a short while before I purchased it in December of 2014.This Toronado has new tires and fresh brakes, ut needs a major tune up including belts, hoses and plug wires. This car was put into storage in 2004 with approx.63000 miles and not driven until 2014 when the second owner purchased the car.
This car drives very well, he steering and FWD is tight and precise, nd if you are familiar with these front wheel drive cars, ou know how well they handle the curves. The motor starts the first time every time, nd the Olds 403 ci engine has a reputation for reliability. The trunk is bone dry, vidence that the high mount turn lights in the trunk deck have never leaked. All lights on this car work as they should. The body has 3 inch place of body filler in the driver's door behind the mirror where it appears to have had something gouge the door, nd evidence of filler on the passenger side rear fender, ust behind the rear tire, nd you can tell that it had a repaint from the molding down.
The driver's side front seat is worn on the corner of the head rest and set back, nd the passenger seat has a slight stainnear the arm rest, s the backseat looks as no one has everbeen back there. The carpet is perfect, xcept by the driver's side, here the carpet is torn where the plastic protective mat is sown in. The original AM/FM 8-track stereo works, ut the speakers crackle and pop, nd I had to disconnect the power antenna asit stopped going up and the motor would constantly run. The air conditioning has been converted to 134a, ut I would change out the O-rings before recharging the system.
Now the good news, he car is decent enough to drive to cruise night, nd nice enough to show, t was in the Toronado Owners Association National Meet in St. Charles, L over the Fourth of July weekend. Aftera major tune up, wouldn't hesitate to drive it from coast to coast, his car has a current Virginia safety inspection, urrently plated and insured and driven weekly. The main reason that I'm selling this is to help finance the purchase of another rare Oldsmobile.
