Oldsmobile Starfire 1962 Description
1962 Oldsmobile Starfire 2 door hardtop coupe 394 V8 10.5:1 “Ultrahigh Compression” 345 HP “Makes you master of all you survey!” According to the sales brochure I bought this car in 2014 from the Bullock Collection Auction in Grant Nebraska. Noel Bullock took this car in on trade in the early 70’s. To his recollection it was loaded as much as a car could get in those days. We cleaned out the fuel system and got the car running. It now starts shifts and moves on its own. I can’t really tell if the tranny might be slipping or not as there is no muffler and still no brakes. The car is very complete with all side trim present. Starfire fender emblems are removed. One has pins missing. The exterior body is solid with mostly surface rust. The rear quarters are rusted out behind the rear wheels and a little on top of the wheels. I have 2 rear quarters cut out from a 62 Buick which can be used as patch panels. The passenger door is hung up with a sprung hinge or something. Will need repair. Side vent window broken out. Drivers door window is rusted at the bottom frame. I have a new repro piece for that window. Side and back glass good. Windshield has a loop crack above the rearview mirror.Trunk and floors are solid. The interior is in need of replacement and will be supersharp when redone in black and silver. Factory buckets console floor shift tachometer. The carpet actually has stainless strips tacked into the “feet” areas! Will come with all original 14” rims and roller tires (14 or 15’s) This is a great RARE car in factory Black. I have only ever known of one other of these cars owned by a body and paint man in Calif and the car drew crowds where ever he went…and that was 15 years ago. When did you last see one? I’d love to keep itbut too many cars andI need to make room. Here is your chance. I have a 62 Olds Dynamic 88 that can be purchased as a parts car by successful buyer of thee Starfire. I am driving the 88. I have installed a 4bbl carb and manifold on it. It has a nice interior runs great with 55000 miles on it. Its got a rusty Minnesota body. No wipers or heater controls working. NOS 14” tires. $2500. See more pics at my website roysvintagecars.com Call 303-988-0391
