Oldsmobile 442 1974 Description
I have for sale my 1974 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442. This car was from Montana and has no rust and has a very straight body. During the restoration, I removed the wheel well trim and most badging on the fenders, hood and trunk to give it a 60's muscle car look. The car has newer Mustang Grabber Orange paint throughout. There is very little filler on this car, as there was no body rot. The paint and body show very well and I dont believe there are even any paint chips on it yet.
Interior:
Full custom interior - black and orange vinyl gives it a 60's era pony car look.
Dash is near mint
Headliner and sunvisors are new
Swivel buckets
Full roll cage with swing out arms. Rear seat is usable and has 3 seat belts in rear.
Fire extinguisher and billet mount
Custom gauge pod in place of ashtray with autometer gauges
Hurst Shifter - red button currently disabled.
Engine - 425 Olds big block V8 from a 1967 Toronado. The car it came from had 57K on the odometer. The car has good compression, runs great and has been reliable on every drive. I replaced the timing chain but otherwise internals are original. The compression is 10:1, forged crank with windage tray and 7 quart oil pan, all origianl. Factroy spec on this engine is 380HP, 500 lb-ft torque. Needless to say it throws you back. I added the following to the engine:
Hooker Super Comp headers
Billet distributor
Edelbrock single plane high rise Victor intake.
Holley Avenger 750 CFM carb.
Edelbrock fuel pump
Chrome valve covers
8MM plug wires and new plugs
other misc chrome goodies and dual feed fuel line with inline filter
Transmission:
TH400 rebuilt with 3000 stall convertor and shift kit - still fresh, but proven performance
Rearend:
10 Bolt with locker and 3.73 Richmond gears - still fresh, but proven performance
Other new items:
Windshield
Driveshaft and U-joints
Brakes - all 4 corners
Master cylinder & power booster
Radiator
3" exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers - exits just before rear axle
Horn button
Gastank
Front drag shocks 90/10
Rear air shocks
Autometer gauges and tach
Centerlink - front steering
Engine mounts
Transmission mount
Speedometer cable
Radio
Door and trunk weatherstrips and door windo whiskers
Door and trunk locks/ keys
Battery relocated to trunk in marine box
Misc:
All lights work
Wipers work
What the car needs/ things to improve:
- I never hooked the heater up - I believe it to be complete, just never bothered with it
- Turn signals work, but the flasher circuit does not work automatically - need to manually operate the turn signal lever.
I am probably forgetting some of the new pats I added to the car, but hopefully you get the idea that I didnt go cheap on the car. The trunk, floors and frame are extremely clean on this car - so much so that the brake and fule lines appear as new and there is not even rust scale underneath the car.
Ask if you have any questions. I will not ship the car and do not need help selling. I could help arrange towing within lower 48 states after payment is made in full. Please bid to own. $500 deposit due within 48 hours of winning bid. I do have the car listed locally and reserve the right to end auction early. Thanks for looking!!
