Jeep Wrangler 1988 Description
Here is a 1988 Jeep Wrangler YJ Laredo 4.2 with many expensive new parts and hundreds of labor hours to make right. It runs great, remendous torque, o hesitations, hifts fine, o smoke, O RUST and very clean! Body and frame are in great shape; glass in great shape except for driver door which as a scrape which does not interfere with anything. The existing Bestop Supertop soft top is in good condition. The Jeep is not perfect but is in far better shape than others that are on the roads, rails, ock piles, treams and mud holes! The following changes/upgrades were made in 2015 (all new parts unless otherwise indicated): INTERIOR: White LED lights in all gauges; headlight dimmer switch; molded black vinyl floor liner in driver and passenger area; transfer case shifter clip and seal; Smittybilt locking metal console; Garage PRO fold and tumble rear seat; Smittybilt black and grey neoprene seat covers front and rear seats (light grey vinyl seats under the covers are in very good to excellent condition); Bestop all weather floor mats; steering wheel cover. EXTERIOR: Body decals; wiper blades; door window channel sweep seals; front rocker crusher bumper w/D rings; Smittybilt XRC 9500 lb. winch never used with raised winch mount plate: Xenon 6" flat front and rear urethane finders; side body steel rock rails with built-in step; rear rock crusher bumper with swing-out tire carrier; trailer wiring from battery to rear hitch; 1000 cranking AMP NAPA Legend battery; rear tail light beadlock trim cover; (5) Mickey Thompson Baja STZ radial tires 31x10.5x15 (only 300 miles on them); (5) Mickey Thompson Baja Beadlock alloy 15" wheels; Zone 2" complete suspension lift kit made by BDS (leafs, itro shocks; heavy-duty shackles, teering stabilizer); Slip Yoke Eliminator (SYE) kit with CV joint rear drive shaft. ENGINE COMPARTMENT/OTHER: Fan clutch; 195 degree thermostat; radiator; water pump; fuel pump; CRT HEI distributor with plug wires and spark plugs; Motorcraft 2150 2-barrel carburetor; "Nuttered" and computer removed; heater fan (noisy on high speed) and heater core; all old emission system removed (all unused electrical left in place and taped); complete Walker FX sound exhaust system with catalytic converter; EGR valve removed and replaced with cover plate (still available if wanted); Felpro Permadry blue rubber valve cover gasket; Felpro intake and exhaust manifold gaskets; Felpro Permadry blue oil pan gasket; rear main seal (RMS); timing chain and gears; timing cover and harmonic balancer; speedometer gear for oversized tires (speedometer still reads a little faster than actual speed); light grey Smittybilt bikini top; grab bars on roll bar; USED half doors with no uppers (paint good but passenger door has a couple of push dents); half door mirrors (additional set of mirrors for window frame mounting when no doors are used); front brake pads; serpentine belt; motor and transmission mounts; Valvoline MaxLife 10W30 with NAPA Premium Select oil filter; power steering pump; lower radiator hose. MISCELLANEOUS: Jeep was bought and shipped from California in poor running condition due to clogged converter, ad carburetor and heavy build-up of carbon due to bad emissions system. All of this was removed and the Jeep is now a basic vehicle with engine, arburetor, ransmission and exhaust system. Now runs like a Jeep should!! Jeep had a non-working A/C system which was removed; compressor motor still under hood for serpentine belt operation (A/C parts available if wanted). Keys do not work on full metal doors or half doors; new Posi-Lok system bought to change Jeep from vacuum to mechanical $WD (not installed but will be come with Jeep if wanted). QUESTION THAT WILL BE ASKED: Why are you selling it? I am 69 and only bought this as a project car to help pass time. I'm done and it is for sale. Only serious people please. I have more in it than I will ever recover and don't need help selling it. Thanks for looking!
