Jeep Wagoneer 1991 Description
This auction is for a 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Final Edition 4x4 in RARE Hunter Green, of the less than 1600 1991s that were produced only an estimated 150 were outfitted in Hunter Green and this color was only available in 1991. With only 95000+ miles on the odometer this Jeep sat in a garage for a number of years. I believe that we are the third owner of this Jeep. From the sticker inside the drivers door it shows that this Jeep was assembled in May of 1991, the latest I believe was June of that year, when a Hunter Green model was built as the true final example and was placed in an automotive museum. This Jeep has the very rare original FINAL EDITION badge on the dash, it is not a aftermarket or repo it is the true one (see pics). The last three total restored examples that I have researched online have all sold for between $50,000-$70,000, I am in no way comparing this one to those just using those figures to show the potential of this truck. This is NOT a perfect vehicle, rather a great foundation for any degree of restoration that one might aspire to.Vehicle specifics (please view pictures carefully), I have put on new tires, alternator, fuel pump, water pump, timing set, starter, had the carb rebuilt and a number of feet of vacuum line replaced, front brakes were replaced as I said it sat for numerous years in a garage while the second owner had a long term illness. I do not want to waste anyone's time so I will try to list all of the imperfections that this 26 year old truck has. The transmission seals are out and the transmission slips shifting between 2nd and 3rd gear, reverse is a little tough to get into also, so one should just plan on having to have the transmission rebuilt ASAP. The vacuum assisted 4x4 actuator works sporadically and sometimes you have to manually work the vacuum block under the hood (trick I found on a Jeep forum). I have never attempted to charge the AC system, the heat/defrost works great. One of the valve covers is leaking onto the exhaust manifold and there is a couple of small leaks in the coolant system. Exhaust hanger broke so the tail pipe is wired up. Paint is very pretty for the most part but being out in the weather the last two years there are places along the sides and hood where it is beginning to oxidize. There are little dents and dings from being in a garage for years, there are several random dents on the hood and roof that appear to be hail damage. The worst body damage on the truck is the passenger side rear door (shown in pic) and a weird gouge on the right rear corner of the truck. The compass/temp overhead indicator has never worked since I took possession of the truck. The fold down arm rest has a tear in it and there is a spot ripped on the drivers seat also. And finally the truck will need a new headliner as half of it is gone and the other half is tacked up. I disclosed all this because I don't want to waste your time or mine.
If you have made it this far without hitting the "back" button on your browser I will assume that you know just how rare and how special this Jeep is. This is an awesome candidate for a total restoration or however far you want to take it. The woodgrain is in wonderful condition and the trim is in just as good of shape. Bumpers are nice and to my knowledge I have not been able to find one bit of rust on this vehicle except where the paint has been scraped and surface rust on the lower valance between the grill and the bumper. All glass is good. Power locks and windows operate fine. Original radio works but I only get sound out of the driver's door. All of the overhead lights work, remote mirrors work, power seats are both operational. Has OEM rear mats but no front floor mats. Rear window glass travels up and down without fail. Has original manual and some paperwork from dealer as well as the license plate frame from the Jeep dealer in Tulsa OK where it was purchased. I will update this listing if anything else comes to mind but as far I know this is FULL disclosure.
Truck drives very nice, its like driving from your leather couch. Steering is good and there appear to be no issues with alignment. I drive this truck 20-50 mile per week and am regularly stopped and asked about this woody. It's a major head turner.
Don't miss this opportunity to own a true piece of American Iron, the last factory produced car with a carburetor and no driver's airbag. There have been numerous articles written about the huge popularity of these retro SUVs and with the impending re-release of the Jeep Wagoneer it is only driving up the popularity and prices of these. Don't miss out.
An immediate $500 deposit will be due upon the conclusion of this auction, I have the CLEAN title free of any liens in hand.
