Jeep CJ 1986 Description
This Jeep started life as a 4 cyl. with a T-5 transmission. I found a certified master tech who had rebuilt a Chevy 350 and TH400 transmission for sale so I bought the pair and dropped them into the Jeep. I used an Advanced Adapter to mount the transfer case to the TH400. Pretty much everything under the hood is new other than the master cylinder. The Jeep has a spring over lift and 35 inch MTRs with at least 50% tread left on them. To make the Jeep go I installed a B&M automatic shifter. I have replaced the front seats and the rear seat is in great shape with no rips. The interior has been lined with bed liner and, ven though there is no rust, he underside and the frame have been coated in Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator and top coated with Rustoleum. There are new front rotors, alipers, nd pads as well as new pads, rums and all brake hardware on the rear. The Jeep comes with a full soft top and a bikini top. The Jeep has approximately 3,500 on the new engine. In an effort to give full disclosure, ere are the "issues". The Jeep currently does not have any heat. The heater core busted and I removed the heater box to replace it. I ended up buying a used heater box with core already installed but I haven't gotten around to installing it yet. I do not have a shifter for the 4wd yet. The TH400 pushed the transfer case further back than its original placement so you will either have to modify the stock shifter or do like I was going to do and get a cable shifter (you can go twin stick while you are at it). With the extended driveline length, had to shorten the rear driveshaft. It ends up that the skid plate needs to be lowered (just add spacers) about an inch to get rid of the slight shimmy when you take off from a red light at about 5 mph (no shimmy at all after that). I haven't hooked up the windshield wiper motor yet but have the old one that worked when I removed it. There is a small crack in the windshield on the passenger side. The front sway bar is disconnected because the links need to be shortened. They should not be attached until they are properly shortened because they will snap your front brake lines.....don't ask how I figured that out. The Jeep probably needs a good alignment before you drive it at high speeds. I never took to speeds above 50 mph since it has always been an extra cruiser after the rebuild. Those are the "major problems" that I know of with this Jeep.
If you need the Jeep shipped, am willing to meet your shipper anywhere in the Chattanooga area but it is your responsibility to work out the details and cover the cost. Jeep must be paid for in full before shipment. Payment in full is expected within 48 hours of auction's end. There is too much fraud out there so I will only accept cash or Paypal.
